All of Glenn Youngkin's bills to limit abortion rights come to my committee.
I put them straight into my trash can.

With more money, we could have awarded more DIY Young Artists Residencies this year.

We're hoping to do it again next year. If folks want to support a young artist at $2500 in 2027, reach out to me. Your donations are tax deductible.

Maybe it's just me but I don't think Jeffrey Epstein's clients should be the ones to decide if Jeffrey Epstein's clients should be prosecuted.

If they could just invent a cure for covid, my whole life would stop being an absolute never-ending experience of sadness and misery

it's important to remember that destroying the ability to tell truth from fiction is pretty much job one for an aspiring facsist dystopia and that's why the "data centers" are so important to them

I forget how much reading your work is essential to a story that flows properly.

If you write, read your work.

The whole story (so far) is available on my ghost homepage and if you subscribe you’ll get the chapters moving forward in your inbox…. So there’s reasons.

I'm sorry. Seems on brand to me. He was just hanging with Obama.

They couldn’t make Real Genius today because audiences would be confused why a bunch of nerds would sabotage selling their technology to the military-industrial complex

damn that sounds like a difficult line to walk as a writer who isn't connected to the universe in an emotional way

ohhh fascinating. I really appreciate these insights and recs because you seem to read these in a similar way I would and it's hard to know that.

I know all that on a logical level. It just might never sit right with me. I am hoping I find a way to make peace with it.

For sure. Gilroy is his own kind of genius where he studied the source material. And he knows the histories on rebellions and fascism so well. I think Filoni knows timing and comedy in a way Gilroy does not. They compliment each other well in that way.

I hear the newer novels are better?

THAT has also been a gripe of mine because TCW depicts Anakin in a way that ROTS does not. But kind of comes together in Rebels. I'd like to see more of that being explained.

7 hours ago 1 0 1 0

NO WAY. Okay, this adds to my unhealthy fixation on Ahsoka and Anakin's post Vader mess. I haven't emotionally reconciled how all that plays out. Would you say it's ok to read those novels without going back historically?

I have said this myself because I hated the prequels when they came out. But really, George had an important lesson for all of us that is even more relevant today than then. Though had we listened in 2000, who knows where we'd be. Utopia? Doubtful. But Trump wouldn't be here.

it's gotta all come down to power, right? I think this is where Gilroy's read on the Empire is helpful. Filoni made them all too bumbling at points. That they are smart and power-driven—craven—is the point.

I honestly still haven't made peace with how Sheev was able to get away with everything. To me, that's the biggest plothole. And then I look around at our reality and am like, well of course he did.

Yea that's so cool. Also, thanks for geeking out with me about this. I'm very alone in my nerd.

Racism is literally all they are good at. They aren't attractive, so OnlyFans is out. They aren't funny or charismatic so being an influencer is a bust. And they have no skills so making instructional videos for YouTube isn't an option.

I'm def curious about the Thrawn stuff especially as the Ahsoka series continues. And I know I want to read about that whole time period. I'm also enjoying Daniel José Older's comics on High Republic era. tbh I loved the stuff about the Sith in Acolyte and would read that stuff too
