Gameplay of Banchō Table Tennis (番長卓球), a preserved i-mode game. It's a table tennis game based on the Osu! Banchō series of pachislot games. As such, it features slot machine and quick time event mechanics. The music is also quite good!

So far, all G-MODE releases are completely offline. However, they've haven't rereleased a server-dependent title yet. I'd imagine they'd make all the content available locally, like some offline gacha games. But as for online keitai game functionality (i.e. Before Crisis), it remains to be seen.
Supporting G-MODE releases is important because many keitai games, including the Tales keitai games, are heavily server-reliant. A G-MODE rerelease is the only way those can be experienced. We're also hopeful that this encourages other publishers rerelease their keitai games!
This is great news! As some may recall, Pied Piper was found last year. In accordance with Keitai Archive's policies on commercially-available games, it's been removed from Keitai World Launcher. An English translation was underway, and it's still continuing. Please support the official release!
Keitai World Launcher now includes a "903iHP" sound setting for the DoJa/Star SDK's emulator! With this setting, you get more accurate 903i audio without the performance hit. Audio stuttering has also been greatly reduced! It only occurs if the game drops frames. See my video to hear the difference!
To try this for yourself, use Keitai World Launcher's network config menu. To obtain a UID and TID, use the Butler Sheep bot in the Keitai World Discord server!

The i-mode port of Puyo Puyo Sun was preserved by an anonymous user! Released in 2006, this version of the game only features Arle's story.
A preloaded trial version of Darius Wide was preserved by WN3DL and Cuebus! This was a keitai port of Darius for devices that supported horizontal screen orientations. This copy was preloaded on the 920SH, which was a Yahoo Keitai (SoftBank) device.

The original i-mode port of Cleopatra Fortune was preserved by @wowmd.bsky.social and Cuebus! This was released by Taito in 2002, making it a very early keitai game. It was later updated with improved visuals.
You can access all of our preserved machi-chara via the machi-chara tab in Keitai World Launcher!

Last year, the Aegis and Teddie machi-chara was preserved! Machi-charas were home screen avatars on DoCoMo keitai. They walk around the screen, offering assistance or playing cute animations. For instance, Aegis and Teddie would let you know if you got new mail!
You can find the patch via Keitai World Launcher: keitaiarchive.org/downloads.html

Happy one year anniversary to the Rockman DASH 5 Islands English patch! Lost to time until 2024, this game nails the Mega Man Legends series' style and character writing. If you want to experience one more adventure with the Legends cast, I encourage you to check it out!
A partial copy of Tekken 2's i-mode port was preserved by @yuvi.app! Released in 2006, our copy appears to have been tailored to Sony Ericsson i-mode keitai. It relied on SD card data that we don't have, so only simple mode is playable.
The original i-mode release of Bomberman Kart Special was preserved by SJ2 and Cuebus! You can play as six characters and race on six tracks. This was released internationally in 2006, but the original keitai version was lost to time until today.
Keitai World Launcher has been updated to Ver. B0.8.4!

✅ Better memory management (less disk read/writes)
✅ Added option to edit appli information directly in KWL
I just created an OpenGL hardware renderer for STAR keitai emulator. No longer will heavy 3D games run badly. Minna no Golf Mobile 3 goes from like 4 FPS to a locked 30 FPS. All with proper 3D character rendering and texture loading. Plus internal resolution scaling.
My bad, my mic quality wasn't the best! The user's name is NaoyaShinota. He's active on the Keitai World Discord server!
I went on the Video Game History Hour podcast with @unabandonware.bsky.social! It's a great overview of keitai game preservation, from the games to preservation challenges. I hope you enjoy! Thank you to @philsalv.bsky.social for having us on.

They're having a good time...
Today, @unabandonware.bsky.social and @robocami.bsky.social preserved some Toro Inoue i-mode media! These could be attached to emails or be used as wallpapers. A second image is below!
This is "Kirin: Let's Supporter" (キリンLet'sサポーター), a licensed i-mode game that was preserved last year. It appears to have been released to coincide with the 2006 Kirin Cup Soccer tournament. It's a rhythm game, where you try to match the spectators' moves! I clearly need to work on my moves...
Thanks for the mention! Thankfully, that game is preloaded on that phone model, so we've already preserved it. But uses steganography to hide code inside gif files, so it's a pain to get emulated. In that sense, it's easier to play it on original hardware.
You can watch my longer gameplay of Star Devastator's second and third stages here: youtu.be/tSaSbzy7AZs?...
Thanks to Leonierx, the second and third stages of Star Devastator are now playable! It turns out the trial contains the first half of the full game. For a 3D keitai game in 2003, this one pushed the limit. Hopefully we'll find the rest of the stages one day! I've posted a longer gameplay below.
If you want to try this and other online keitai game functionality, first. download Keitai World Launcher. Then, join the Keitai World Discord server and head to the "butler-sheep" channel for the bot to give you the IDs for online play. Then enter those into KWL.

Earlier this week, @yuvi.app preserved Mappy de Puzzle, as well as several other previously-lost #Namco i-mode ports from the early 2000s! Mappy de Puzzle was released exclusively for keitai in 2003. You guide a set of Meowkies through a maze. It's really charming!
