The 08 financial crisis decimated the graphic industry and IMO it never recovered to what it once was. Now you have to do branding, marketing, social media, web development etc, and for half the price you used to charge.

I was in a 4 year design program and by the time I graduated after an extra half a semester there were people who went to 2 year intensives (art institutes) that never had a bachelors that were making substantially more money than I had as they got 2 years into the market before I did.

As someone who majored in graphic design... I can assure you, you aren't missing anything. The ubiquity of Adobe killed real design and Canva killed the creative side of design. Not many are willing to pay good money for truly designed brands and marketing. Print design outside of posters is dying.

I need a moment usually. Solid 5-10 minutes.

Looking through one of the four windows of the Orion spacecraft, a tiny crescent Earth is illuminated against the blackness of space and grows smaller as the crew journeys closer to the Moon. Part of the window edge is visible; the rest is darkness. [Alt-text slightly revised from ESA/NASA version]

Journalistic context would be great on a video like this.... who what where when and why. We got the where part. So many questions. People are saying it's a roaming security bot manned by a 3rd party overseas. Just like they do now with parking garages.

This hopefully will link well with the state park development plan and build some community and activity back into that neighborhood. Needs easy transport. I.e. Portland style where game tickets include mass transit to and from. Just have to show your ticket if you get asked.

I really miss the days when I could log into social media and look at things friends were up to, art, music, cool stuff from brands I followed. Now it's just non stop political strife because every day the leaders of our nation do something astronomically illegal, stupid, crass or all 3 at once.

Future generations won’t believe these trees existed.
They will read about 1,500-year-old cedars and 2,000-year-old redwoods and think we made them up—like dragons or griffins.
But right now, we have the chance to make sure the story ends differently. Don’t let the last ancients become myths.

FICO is under investigation for massive price hikes—jumping from $0.60 to $10 in just five years. These costs hit homebuyers directly, especially first-timers. We’re watching this closely to ensure our clients aren't being overcharged by a monopoly.

The day the Affordable Care Act passed was one of my proudest moments as president, because it meant that millions of Americans would have access to health care, some for the first time.

Adding to that, a doubling down on renewable energy so that when the middle east eventually crumbles on its own (it will) we're not as reliant on power generation.

This is the kind of team that is just as likely to surprise me as it is to disappoint me I feel so far this year. We'll see who shows up and if Liam Rosenior can cook something up tactics wise. Missing Estevao here big time.

Even without James I'm not writing this team off. They have the firepower and the players to do this. If Sanchez is on the bench Blues are in big trouble though.

The Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act is officially live. Credit bureaus can no longer sell your data as "trigger leads" the moment you apply for a loan. Credit reports cost a bit more now, but the 35 robo-calls a day are finally illegal. Silence is golden.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist in most ways. I'm more of an agent of chaos type person but the links between Trump, Israel and Russia is less than the 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon thing between him and Putin's FSB. It's like 4 people.

Bold of Gavin to assume there's an actual "policy". The policy he ran on was No New Wars. He's obviously at war on several fronts. He couldn't even finish whatever he wanted to do in VZ.

He can't punish Putin too much or else he'll release the blackmail he has on him and then it's one more thing he has to fight with little to no support already.

Feel like they only need 5 if they can beat their direct competitors and get a 3 pt jump on some of them. Villa, Man U, Liverpool to be exact. Everton would be good too. Just can't lose points when they should be easily winning.
