Very much so I agree.

The idea that shame based faith will build a helpful basis for coming to God is wild to me. Your personal relationship with the Bible is so much more significant then a faith handed down that conflicts with what you're being told to read. God loves you for you, not loves you through the church alone

Actually had an EXTREMELY similar situation. All the way down to the bully dying. Same dude being a dick in school but the teachers just let him because he was hard to work with, broke into my house and burglarized it as an adult. But me drawing in class was the real issue and I was sent to therapy.

Self confidence, especially in what's personal to what you create is hard to share and harder to feel confident. Remember that you see every line placed and color picked in a piece, etc. what others see is the finished piece and they scrutiniz it FAR less of any. We follow cause we WANT to see it :)
