I dunno. I kinda feel like the one shot is being done because they didn't book time to explain Torment and they realized that it was best he die in the story, so they're doing the backstory there.

Gotta admit it was a pretty clever way to flesh out the Ghostbusters line by having those transforming figures as the villains since they didn't really have reoccurring "bad guys" in the show.
I would've loved to have the Talon Fighter as a kid.
I had a few Masters vehicles, but no jets that I can recall.
So if anyone wants to argue that MJ is "irrelevant" for the Spider-Man franchise, there was a Spider-Man/Superman crossover released today that has been completely ignored because Mary Jane killed a guy in today's issue of ASM.
Oddly enough, they did have someone from Doctor Who on it.
And the MCU.
Just wait'll you get to the Always Sunny season...
Yeah, this was back when they were sometimes trying to present Joker's relationship with Harley as a "good" thing...
God remember how obnoxious people got about Joker?
It's also bad if it doesn't follow the source material and dares to change things.
Joe Kelly's writing for MJ has... a *LOT* to be desired.
Is there some reason Rich Johnston is constantly ride or die for the Spider-Offices and Dan Slott?

No. Clearly we need elaborate excuses as to why shoplifting is okay.
Yeah, that was sort of the thing with why Lindsay Ellis' antics were questionable.
She tried to downplay what he did, saying it was no big deal, and tried to make his dismissal about speaking out against GamerGate when- it really wasn't.
There's more details here, but basically there's a chat log or something where Dan cops to the fact that he and others at CA were told about what Justin did and didn't say anything.

Also he knew about what Justin Carmichael was doing and kept quiet.
But someone who knew about Justin Carmichael's activities and kept quite while also hording child p*rn to "frame" 8Chan for... having child p*rn *is* kind of a questionable fellow...
He horded child p*rn to post on 8Chan in order to prove the site had child p*rn.
Isn't the answer to the question "What happened to the MCU" just "You're no longer 12?"
It'd be nice to get a writer on Amazing Spider-Man who isn't a raging misogynist.
And the thing of it is, there's nothing *wrong* with those types of stories.
*ONCE* in a while.
But the *bulk* of the writers for the past 20 years have wanted to write anything *but* Spider-Man and his supporting cast.
I just feel turnabout is fair play, y'know?
I'd also fill the books with expys of protagonists from Garth Ennis comics and just present them as a bunch of right wing, fascist, misogynistic goons who get horribly brutalized by actual supercriminals.
I know one must rise above their instincts, but part of me also feels that if I ever got to write any Marvel comics I'd treat Warren Ellis' creations the same way that he treated the bulk of Marvel characters and just have them be a bunch of incompetent buffoons no one likes who all get killed off.
I like how Clooney was clearly just meant to be "Mark's dumbass friend" but it was hard not to make him one of the main leads.
Rewatching early ER is funny because you realize that Clooney wasn't supposed to be one of the "main" characters and was more of a sidekick to Mark.
I think there's a few more, but mostly restricted to the Golden Age.
Remember the Prankster was never really considered an "A" list villain.
He didn't even show up on STAS.
Which apparently *must* mean there's something wrong with you.
You gotta go back a ways.
"Excuse my weird, backwards facing babyhands."
It's this wild thing, because stories like Kingdom Come, Supreme and Astro City are really good comics. But beneath the surface they're also bitter diatribes about how dare the 90's happen.
