On the very-clearly-a-N@$i salute, why no amount of calling it out is going to work, and what to do instead.

TLDR - you can’t shame the shameless but you can channel that anger into action

This cannot be who we are choosing to be. How awful. How can the nuance get so lost and twisted into such callousness.

Cognitive decline and loneliness linked in older adults over short time periods | Penn State University Loneliness and cognitive performance were related in the short term for older adults, according to a new study from researchers in the Penn State College of Health and Human Development.

“Loneliness one day may decrease cognitive performance the next day. Then, experiencing decreased cognitive performance can lead to increased #loneliness a few hours later, which may create the long-term relationship between cognitive decline and loneliness.”

I’ve mentioned this before, but if you’re short on cash but have an urge to shop, go to your library digital apps and browse the books, audiobooks, movies, shoes, magazines. It works really well to give you the same feeling without spending the cash. (Plus you’re supporting public libraries.) 💙📚

Medicine focuses a lot on the question “will this help my patient” but not on the question “when will it help my patient.” The latter becomes important as we age. We’ve developed a “time-to-benefit” tool on eprognosis.ucsf.edu to help answer this question. Here is a snapshot

This! We cannot divert from quality palliative care to AD. Right now, I feel like the advocacy needs to be on access to Palliative for ALL.

Bluesky right now feels a little like all the Whos gathering to sing after the Grinch stole their floofloovers and jingtinglers.

Already seeing people engaging in beefs.

It is a very weird sensation, not too unlike a shot of Dr. McGillicuddy, but the tingle lasts longer.

This guy needs to keep playing football as long as possible. As soon as he retires, he’s gonna get himself a Cabinet position. No one wants that.
