It’s #selfpromosaturday. Feel free to drop any links or otherwise promote your TTRPG projects. A game you’ve made, actual plays, podcasts, cool maps/art, anything goes.

Time for another round of Take an NPC, Leave an NPC.
Describe an NPC from one of your TTRPGs that others are free to use in theirs. Bonus points for pictures.
Recommend your favorite TTRPG content creators. Could be artists, actual plays, game devs, anything goes.
Who was the first character you created? What was their ultimate fate?

Let’s get a Worldbuilding Wednesday going.
Share about whatever worlds you’ve created. What makes them unique? Who or what inhabits them? What interesting cultural quirks exist?

John Smith, a totally normal human male and NOT a rock gnome artificer with a steel defender reflavored as a “meat suit” that he piloted like a mech. John was a gnome raised by humans in an all human colony with some body image issues. Over time he grew to embrace his true self and “shed” the suit.
DM Tip #7 - Create some ambiance in your ttrpg by using background music. I recommend Cotton Eye Joe - 10 hours.

What’s your favorite ttrpg game mechanic you’ve come across (or created)?
I personally really enjoy the candles as a countdown timer from Ten Candles.
I started with D&D 3.5e, my current favorite is probably pathfinder 2e.
Ohhhhh y'all!
I just won a little creative writing challenge from one of my favorite DnD podcasts, The Eldritch Podblast. It's just a friendly lil competition but they read my work and were truly lovely.

Text reads: Have a question about Pathfinder? Ask me anything! The background image is a darkened version of the cover of the Pathfinder 2e core rulebook.
Since we’re all kinda new to this space, allow me to offer up my knowledge of Pathfinder 2e (ESPECIALLY about lore), so ask away!
DM Tip #6 - Running into writer’s block when fleshing out your ttrpg campaign? Just steal some plot points from your favorite show, add in some dinosaurs, a bag of holding. Baby, you’ve got a stew going.
DM Tip #5 - Really want to run that awesome DMPC you created? Don’t.

Ironsworn: Delve is free today for Free RPG Day. Ironsworn is an excellent, free (solo) TTRPG, and Delve is an expansion that adds in quite a bit of new content.
As we build a community, here's a round-up of some of the awesomely creative comic-book and TTRPG folks I know here on Bsky that you should be following.
Please add anyone I missed that I should be following :)

There’s a bunch of new gamedevs and TTRPG/board game designers here, so I thought a Bluesky Game Design Challenge could be fun!

Hopefully you get the chance to play in person again soon. I’ve gone the roll20/VTT route and it definitely wasn’t for me.
DM Tip #4 - Want to add minis to your ttrpg? Just spend several hundred dollars on a nice resin 3D printer and painting equipment and you’re all set. Or just use Lego minifigs.
In my experience, players are generally grateful for the amount of effort it takes to GM. I’ve run sessions that I’ve personally felt were terrible and my players still enjoyed the game.
DM Tip #3 - Dealing with murderhobos? Every time they interact with an NPC that doesn’t end in a death, reward your players with one M&M.
My son is way cooler than I’ll ever be.
Luba is a half-orc weapon smith. He considers his creations to be his children and lovingly names each one (and expects any adventurers to use that name). He is seemingly able to converse with his children.
Take an NPC, leave an NPC: what’s an interesting character from any game you’re running?
DM tip #2 - Dwarves don’t have to have a bad Scottish accent. For instance, they could have a good or even mediocre Scottish accent.
DM tip #1 - Group members keep cancelling on you? Book an escape room for everyone. Once the door’s been locked, bring out the dice and minis and enjoy your captive audience!
