Not sure if it counts, but I’ve always liked the story that (supposedly) there is no known word for “bear“ in English. The word we use now is a euphemism so people wouldn’t actually say the real word for bear, out of fear or summoning one.

So much of the comics advice I've found most useful is not big-picture meaning-of-life storytelling stuff, but "every page should end on a mini-cliffhanger" and "make sure each issue includes at least one splash page the artist can sell at a convention"
