so not only do I think the definition itself is faulty, and the reasoning behind "needing" a new definition faulty, I also find the circumstances under which it was "adopted" questionable. Does it actually reflect the consensus of astronomers around the world? It just feels like low-effort ragebait.

My complaint is that the new definition is nonsense (What is the "neighborhood" of a planet? What does "clearing its neighborhood" mean? How has Pluto failed to clean its neighborhood but Jupiter hasn't? etc.) + was introduced at the very end of an IAU convention after most people had already left
