A Website To End All Websites | Henry From Online How to win the war for the soul of the internet, and build the Web We Want.

you’re right! it feels mostly awful to Go Online™, these days. the internet in a sad state, for reason after reason after reason. but there is a way to fix it; to trade the voidful howling for a quiet & joyful song.

here’s how to win the war for the soul of the internet, and build the Web We Want.

Map tiles for www.toiletmap.org.uk are now completely powered using a new API running on an @cloudflare.social worker.

Over the next few months we'll be looking to ship a new frontend experience and fully migrate over to our new API as part of our move from Vercel

We have an app on the way too!!

Two vinyl sleeves from the Lemon Jelly album 'Lost Horizons' displayed on a wooden table. The sleeve on the left features a bright, stylized vector illustration of rolling orange fields and a coastline under a blue sky. The sleeve on the right features a contrasting dark blue vector illustration of a city skyline and house at night. In the background, there are PlayStation and Nintendo Switch controllers and small potted plants.

Snagged a great deal on a vinyl copy of one of my favourite albums. Couldn’t pass it up!! Certainly the new stand out LP in my collection

it took a while but is definitely worth it!
if you have a local independent gym instead of a chain they can often be quieter and have a really good supportive community

The world breaks my heart every day in multiple ways, but also a bluebird alerted me to a barred owl this evening

recently started becoming really paranoid about using Spotify because I have no idea if they’ll start suggesting unlabelled AI generated music / artists.

I’ll be cancelling when my current subscription period is up I think

Toilet Map: Our Data

The link would've been a helpful addition to the prior post: www.toiletmap.org.uk/dataset

The data is refreshed daily by a CRON job

We've just put our new Toilet Map dataset page live. You can use it to download a copy of our entire dataset to do with as you wish.

It's licensed under CC BY 4.0 (creativecommons.org/licenses/by/...)

I'm looking to put some time into documenting our API soon also!

My book is published today 📚. It’s called Designing Inclusive Public Toilets: Wee the People, written with @jo-anneb.bsky.social. It’s part inclusive design guide, part manifesto for better public toilets 🚽. Buy copies for all your friends! 🎁. Here’s what you’ll find inside 🧵
