Here's a much requested walkthrough of my #mandalorian helmet's external microphone system. Parts I'm using are linked in the next message - hope this helps you with your own builds!

Not going to lie, I have looked at active cooling systems to install in a jetpack!

Update on #mandalorian helmet interior - now with power! Final iteration of the power distribution module is complete, wired, and installed. The wiring harness for the fans is also cleaned up. Next up is the electronics module for the external mics and voice amp!

Oh man, I just finished installing the battery module and cleaning up the fan wiring harness... Both are in the helmet and it's amazing!

Loving how the battery module for my new #mandalorian helmet is coming out! Needs paint, but I think the design is all done!

Tonight's whisky: Laphroaig Quarter Cask

The work: My new website/store!

Still a work in progress (Be kind...) but I've got much of my Etsy inventory imported and I've started to list my blasters (verboten over on Etsy...). Excited to have a backup, even if traffic is low...

Design views of the new battery module for my #mandalorian helmet. I ended up abandoning the release slider mechanism due to potentially issues - just too small to print effectively...

Sorry for being quiet on here recently - finding it difficult to manage multiple submission media accounts now and have been very busy with some new design projects and, most significantly, working to stand up my own website and storefront!

More to come soon on all of the above!

More time investment into the #mandalorian helmet interior...

Battery module and power distribution designed for a battery bank to slot in and provide power. Waiting on parts coming tomorrow to finish the fit checks, so look forward to more this weekend!

Since the inside of a #mandalorian helmet is the most visible part people will notice while you're in costume, I'm spending an entirely appropriate amount of time on both aesthetics and function on the inside... /s

Out of curiosity, how would you approach a PB&J sandwich?

Very situational, but it's super useful when the need arises

Sanding and priming the #scouttrooper helmet build. 80 grit up through 220 then using an automotive filler primer to smooth any remaining layer lines.

Primer and more sanding will go up to 1k+ grit before painting.

Nope! Less noxious and easier to work with than printer resins, including less processing. Just need to make sure it cures well and then sand it.

I didn't use for snoring the whole piece, just where you get more have later steps on shallow angles or the new you get on large supported surfaces.

Smoothing some of the more significant artifacts from #3dprinting on the #scouttrooper helmet using a clear UV resin. NOT the kind you get for resin printers but the kind used for making jewelry and such. Works and sands great, perfect for smoothing top/bottom layers.

Working on my #scouttrooper again!

Well... The helmet at least. Loads of work left for the rest of the armor and haven't even looked at stuff parts...

Another #Bluey inspired project, bringing together the whole #Heeler family this time!

More variations to come for some of the other great characters, but these ones are already up on the shop for anyone interested (link in profile)

Testing out some high visibility colors suitable for #youngling troopers - a bit too much orange on this version, but I think it's mostly there!

Next up is definitely gonna be a purple and pink version for the gals ๐Ÿ˜„

My first attempt at using the airbrush was... alright. Probably pretty good considering the sum of my research on the topic was seeing a few clips of others airbrushing on social media...

K-17 Bryar Pistol is completed! Clear coat and weathering done - went with a heavier grime using some matte black paint wash for a "well loved" look to go along with the other damage. Loving the weathered copper in top!

E-11 Medium Blaster Rifle completed! Had fun with the weathering on this one, especially the grime in the chamber and bolt area. Why does a blaster have a bolt again? Best ignore that...

Looking forward to the next one! Probably some clean ones next.
