Yeah, but you're changing the subject from:

"not hitting all that well so far this seaon"
---
There have been games in which the streak has been extended by hits.
---
The streak is "getting on base." That's the only criteria. It doesn't matter how.

Bye!

If they offer to refer to it as the "Trump Strait," he'd give them $50 billion, would agree to attack Israel, and would offer to sell them nuclear weapons.

It's the "fascist communists" that you really need to look out for.

(It's all just words without meaning to them.)

.272 with 5 hr; 11 RBI, .908 OPS. A lot of guys would be happy with that.

Turns out the phrase “America First” is preceded by the words “Sell Out.”

The guy who pioneered government's providing social services was Otto von Bismark of Prussia, and he did it to head off socialism.

When I was young, but old enough to remember (age 8), my dad read in the LA Times the Red Cars would make a final run from downtown to Long Beach. Research says the date was 4/8/61.

He said (in effect), "We have to experience that," and we did. The memory is few short clips, but they're there.

Anyone who follows baseball knows that Bat/ball boys have an often thankless job. The Phillies, however, made a hype video for theirs, and I LOVE IT.

If this is true (because almost everything he says isn't), it shows how stupid Donald is. He doesn't realize that this increased demand will make US oil prices go up, causing domestic gas prices to rise further. The only beneficiary? The US oil and gas industry, which gave Donald a $1 billion bribe.

Vance is not the guy, yes.

Yet the crazy racist anger that fuels "MAGA" will still be there. I'm expecting an evolution or transformation rather than a death.

I hope Trump's failings wound phenomena like "Christian Nationalism" for a generation, but they'll remain as dissenters, not converts.

The history of political philosophy is a history of subversion. E.g. the Enlightenment is the intellectual subtext for the American and French Revolutions.

"First thing we do is, let's kill all the [philosophers]."

Despite Trump’s promises to bring down prices “on Day One,” Americans paid an average of $310 more for groceries in 2025 compared to 2024.

American families are footing the bill for Trump’s reckless policies.

I'm an attorney in Austin. I've done some employment law, enough to know the company is notorious among the Texas employment bar.

My example is: A friend worked Thanksgiving. Her shift started at 11 p.m. on Wed. They denied her "holiday pay" because she started work on a day that wasn't a holiday.

Ironically, he doesn't mean a word of it. He'll do anything for attention and "ratings." He's an incredibly dishonest, unethical, and amoral individual. But he fools a lot of people.

HEB isn't open on Thanksgiving because the Butt family believes their employees should spend that time with their families. (They still own the business.)

I talk to employees when I shop there. They all say, "This is a great place to work."

There's a different story at ultra-corporate Whole Foods.

The alternative theory is that he's compelled to compensate for an all-consuming insecurity.

Dad Fred beat it into him that the very worst thing to be is a "loser," and he's been in denial his entire life. In fact, he's often been a "loser."

I.e., he's been seriously mentally ill for a long time.

This year's World Cup is men. Women's World Cup is next year in Brazil. It will be June 24 - July 25. CONCACAF qualification will be Nov-Dec.

Emma isn't calling Casey into camp. Number one GK appears to be Phallon Tullis-Joyce, but Claudia Dickey is in contention for the role. 3d is Jane Campbell.

It was "stay busy." I don't think he mentioned "working."

Those golf balls aren't going to kick themselves onto the greens without his "staying busy."

He needs to start with an admission of powerlessness and acknowledge that his life has become unmanageable. That may be awhile.

It's a standard tactic for him:

1. Announce something wonderful is "close";

2. Ignore it when that's shown to be false or doesn't happen;

3. Leave the impression from the first announcement he's doing great things when he's actually doing nothing

He does this ALL THE TIME.

I thought Trump said the war was over, we won, the strait was open, and they were giving up their uranium? What happened with all that?

Trump, IRS In Talks To Settle U.S. President's $10 Billion Lawsuit Trump's adult sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, and the Trump Organization are also plaintiffs.

Trump is reported close to a "deal" with himself under which US taxpayers would pay him $10 billion.

I served in multiple communist and authoritarian dictatorships, but I never witnessed corruption on this scale or this blatant.

I've been saying that ever since she showed up. As Rapinoe noted, when Naomi first took the field for the USWNT, it was as if she already had about six years' experience.
