Oh yeah! I just checked, it's written 선희, so the "closest" transliteration would be Seon-hui. But no English speaker is gonna look at "hui" and pronounce it correctly lol. Makes sense why they chose the romanization that easily reads as a close-enough pronunciation
(Really there's no H sound tho!)

For the curious, his name is written 현태 in Hangul, you can hear it pronounced in g*****translate~

Oh and the Hanja is 賢泰 😊
I spent an insane amount of time finding Hanja that 1) exist/are readable in JP too, 2) I like the meaning of, and 3) can be read as a JP name that suits him (賢泰 = Kenta)

The struggle of having a Korean OC is trying to decide how you want to romanize their name... there's no "correct" way, there's sometimes several options lol

Hyun-tae? Or Hyeon-tae?
Or do we forego the hyphen with
Hyuntae? Or Hyeontae?

I like the "eo" but the pronunciation isn't intuitive in EN 🫠

And my OC, Ryuji lmao:
He idly massages his hands/wrists when he's anxious- to others it just looks like he's working out some soreness.
If seated, he bounces his leg-
something he does normally too, but when nervous/agitated he does it more aggressively.
I think he bites/chews his lip sometimes too

Hyun-tae (also autistic) normally avoids eye contact while he's speaking- and when nervous he'll also speak too quietly, too little, too fast, or too much 🥲 He also tends to fidget by rubbing his arm, pinching/stroking his earlobe, adjusting his glasses/clothes, etc

Nanase strokes pieces of her hair, runs her fingers through the ends, etc., which often passes as a casual habit rather than a nervous one, but those close to her can notice when something's off. She also wears a lot of soft/furry/silky clothes & she tends to stim on them to regulate herself

Tbh I didn't like them for a long time, I think bc they were so common/popular among classmates when I was a teenager, and I struggled to exist as a girl lol.

Tbh I think 🐲 is gonna struggle the most out of the 3, not as much because of appearance changes, but changes in strength/stamina that'll make him feel "weak". And he's definitely gonna have to deal with chronic pain from old injuries too 😭
(Tho at a baseline, he will always be strong and huge lol)

☕ is 5 yrs older than 🐈‍⬛🐲, and definitely has some anxieties about being "old", even at 35 lol. He struggles with body dysmorphia & general self-worth issues though, so it's an extension of that. But I think he's someone who'll gain confidence with age, especially since he has supportive partners~

🐈‍⬛ is/was in a highly competitive profession where looks & youth are really important, so she's hyper-aware of "aging" during her 20s & early 30s, but she soon stops giving so much of a fuck 👍 She tries to think of it positively, looking forward to becoming a hot auntie, and later, a hot granny 😆

Started up my recent file of Y2 again yesterday after a few months break 😊 I wish I could like Kaoru...but every time she gets some sympathetic characterization it's promptly revoked bc she does something to remind me she's a shitty cop 🫠 Girl quit pulling your gun on people, holy fuck

When Kaoru suddenly comes into their lives, 🐈‍⬛ has a hard time adjusting to 🐲 doting on her so much. To 🐈‍⬛ she's a stranger (& a cop) but 🐲 immediately accepts her as family, and it makes 🐈‍⬛ feel bitter bc he was always part of HER family-- why does Kaoru being blood related make her so important?? 😒

She develops really deep attachments to people, and she wants to be as important to them as they are to her. If she perceives an *unspoken* change to her role in their life, she gets distressed. However, it's all very embarrassing and too vulnerable to express, so she tries to act unaffected lol

🐈‍⬛ tries not to compare herself to others too often, but when it comes to people she's close to, she can't help but feel jealous when she perceives a shift in the hierarchy of relationship importance, even in platonic situations. She's not controlling, but she's quite possessive. If that makes sense.

And 🐈‍⬛ is sweet to him of course, but I think since he spent his whole life surrounded by toxic masculinity, being treated gently by an older man would feel quite Different...

Which is why I decided to give him a nice, patient hyung that could make him feel safe & get him to let his guard down 😊
