@analiliafornj.bsky.social just became the second Latina ever to represent New Jersey in Congress!
As a Latina, this representation means everything.
A working families champion. A community organizer. She is someone who will continue to fight boldly for all of us.

That's why primaries exist. But after them in 2028, we're going to have a choice between a Democratic candidate for president and a Republican candidate, and there will be clear differences between the two.
Prices for tickets, checked bags and fees have all been climbing since the start of the U.S. war in Iran.

EVERYONE SHUT UP THERE WAS ANOTHER MOON NEWS CONFERENCE TODAY!
here beginneth the liveskeet:
There is no early off ramp with Trump and people needed to internalize that in November. Nevermind that even a slight uptick in R votes from an Impeachment would mean multiple states don't flip which makes actually removing him even more unlikely.
The people opposing this administration the most in the Democratic Party are not white. Despite American voters continuing to block majority Black people from power. People who don’t want Schumer should organize and pressure their representatives to oust him. That’s how change occurs.
Republicans and Americans generally do not care or pay attention to Democrats. Your response is a good example of that because many Democrats who aren’t Chuck Schumer have been and continue to speak out and do political push back against Republicans. Malcolm Kenyatta, Ayanna Pressley, Summer Lee
A politician can participate but the pressure comes from citizens demanding change. Dems as a cog in the political system are largely powerless to MAKE Republicans do anything. American voters made sure of that when they voted overwhelmingly for Republicans.

Very Senior Officer Visits. Has only 3 questions.
1) How's the food?
2) Boots fit?
3) Mail getting through?
The last one is the one that really matters. Mail affects morale. Lack of mail means morale is in the shitter and that you will lose.
That's why, in the past, mail always got through
A photo of a tray with three sections empty. One has chopped carrot in it. The other has what can only be described as a posit of brown dog vomit and an insole liner of a sneaker (or a used panty liner from the mid 1700s). The kind of meal that would have you happily tossing yourself overboard.
NEW: Growing fears of food shortages on USS Tripoli & other US ships in the Middle East.
This photo is the kind of meals now being served. It was sent by a sailor to her family.
Families are now trying to send food parcels to the ships.

Exactly one year ago today:
But impeachment still won’t work right now. We need to squeeze Republicans socially first. We haven’t done that yet.
I think that’s where some Dems fail to meet the moment. A lot of their strategy is contingent on voters being informed and media willing to frame all this bad shit the way they would if a Dem did it. Neither of those two things are actually happening so their messaging falls flat.
register the GOP & Federalist Society as terrorists organizations, and ban Republicans from office for a set amount of years. Unfortunately, we can’t rely on the courts and Congress because Republicans control those levers. We gotta do the work to at least pressure Republicans to leave office.
We’re gonna have to run a public pressure campaign against Republicans. That means protesting, boycotting, and blocking their donors. Protesting and disrupting Republicans lives. Shunning them from society till they agree to remove Trump and his cabinet, disband their party,
While I understand people being frustrated by this response. A lot of y’all aren’t being serious about impeachment. If you want Trump removed you have to have Republicans agree to vote for it! Since Republicans in office don’t agree Trump won’t be removed.
If removing Trump is the goal then everyone should care whether that can be successful especially since right wing terrorism will spike against mostly minorities in response to impeachment proceedings being started.
If we wanna change this country the people who disagree with the bigoted, stupid, greedy politics that got us here have to acknowledge reality. We need a cultural revolution and public accountability from more than just office holders. We haven’t even had the hard national convos we need yet.
At some point Americans gotta sit with the reality that unless Republicans decide to mass resign we’re fucked via the legal and administrative process of accountability. Impeachment is necessary and it’s not going to remove Trump. It’s also going to result in right wing terrorism.
Because Trump won’t be removed and most Americans will only hear that Trump was voted “not guilty” again. Just like the last two impeachments BEFORE Trump was reelected with full control of government.
Jamie Raskin: "For people to say we should just go ahead and impeach him, simply denies this political reality. There is not a single Republican who has called for impeachment or indicated to us interest in impeachment at this point."

We've now published the full Q&A that Rep. Jamie Raskin had with @nikpopli.bsky.social about the 25th Amendment and impeachment.
Raskin is leading a briefing for House Democrats this afternoon on options for removing Trump.

Rep. Jamie Raskin, who argued the case in Trump’s 2nd impeachment trial, is briefing House Dems today on impeachment and 25th Amendment mechanics. He says he personally does NOT support pursuing impeachment at this time (fixing previous post that omitted the "not")

Rep. John Larson introduced articles of impeachment against Trump this week. He says a member of Democratic leadership told him a failed impeachment push risks being framed as tacit approval of Trump’s conduct.
An immediate vote, he says, is “probably not going to happen”

New: A surge in calls among Democrats to pursue Trump’s impeachment is hitting a wall with party leaders, who believe it will distract from their midterm focus on costs and corruption, according to interviews with over a dozen Democrats.
