Bhattacharya, Letai & other politicals at NIH keep trying to to say all at NIH is fine, because they spent the full budget last year. This well researched article from @carolynyjohnson.bsky.social explains exactly why many scientists are still struggling. www.washingtonpost.com/science/2026...

2 out of 3 ain’t bad
Sounds like an Astros move, wasn’t it?
Thanks Cathy!
Kenya and Zimbabwe are among the first African countries to offer #lenacapavir, a game-changing #HIV prevention injection that's shown 100% efficacy 💉. You only need it twice a year. Kenya is already giving it out free at public clinics 🇰🇪, while Zimbabwe is rolling it out across 24 sites 🇿🇼.
Very honored to be in this group!
Congrats, Stephanie!
If you get your hands on a decent UV flashlight or other UV light source, try pointing it at a bruised banana.
You'll have the opportunity to observe a phenomenon called "blue halos of death" caused by cellular senescence & the breakdown of chlorophyll in the fruit peel.
Let's talk about it.
“Will Nebraska fans travel…” is the sports equivalent of the old question “Is the Pope Catholic?”. Yes, yes they will
When in doubt, more baseball
Dolphins fan here, envious of your ability to do this.

Thanks for your critical aid to the research community, Max! Caught that comment at the NIH oversight hearing, and hope that we'll have confirmatory documents publicly-available in a timely manner –
This Russell Vought, trying to usurp the power of the purse.
Congress and the people have made it abundantly clear that they want to fund science.
But Vought keeps trying to steal those funds.

An exemplar of understatement.
I got excited when I saw that NIH might have received its first apportionment from OMB today.
Alas, it's for ARPA-H.
OMB still has not given NIH a dime for non-salary, non-emergency expenses from the spending bill that was signed into law on Feb 3.

Nice - mad scientist with some style! Just going in simpler pullover & jeans in DC, should've planned better –
Very direct way to communicate this shift - which has been done solely for administrative reasons, rather than supporting the best science, US competitiveness, or other meritorious reasons
I was on Capitol Hill today with @asbmb.bsky.social urging lawmakers to support strong federal investment in
scientific research and training. Also to support : predictable and sustained funding.

Proud to be one of a 60-person @asbmb.bsky.social team visiting Capitol Hill today, meeting NY Congressional delegation to share about the importance of NIH & NSF funding, basic research, and training in the U.S. Glad to speak up as one of 11,000 ASBMB scientists! #ASBMBAdvocates #ScienceServesAll
