That's probably because they are AUDHD. I've been to a couple of speedrunning events and the main difference between people who run a different game every event and the people who always run the same one is if they are on the spectrum or not. :)
Adhd interest retention is based on learning new things. As long as you feel that you haven't mastered what the game has to offer or you don't feel the repetitiveness of the game yet, you'll stay hooked. Once you feel like you got the hang of it and missions start to repeat, we bounce.
