That matches my theory that the start of widespread email communication in the early to mid-90’s was the driver with first names coming into widespread use. Emails don’t begin Dear Mr….

It think the change coincided with the start of emails (mid-90’s) when everyone started to be addressed as Dear Martin, not Dear Mr Lewis and first names became the most acceptable way to address people.

Glasgow, 1980’s. Parents’ close friends were always Auntie and Uncle, despite being no relation. Parents of my school friends were usually Mr and Mrs. In Hardy Enfield’s Kevin & Perry sketches the characters always used “Mr/Mrs Patterson”

Agree (Spoiler) was surprised at the positivity of the ending! My 8 and 13 year old loved it. The way it unfolded with time jumps really worked.

Performance Art. They imagined a blank canvas ready to be turned red. Instead it was more like the KLF setting fire to £1m

He might be happy moving to Turkey instead. Looks like he bought his teeth there. And he could maintain the Cuprinol tan equally well in the eastern Mediterranean

But what did they do with 45kg of bonus honey?! Eat it, get a stall at the farmers market, turn it in to artisan skincare products…?

When was at school, George Galloway was Labour MP for Glasgow Hilllhead. I bumped into him at a newsagent on Byres Rd. He was buying a copy of The Sun and his open top, “Big Red Fun Bus” was parked outside blasting out Tina Turner’s “Simply The Best”.

The Briny, Family-run Restaurant on Southsea Seafront The Briny has a casual beachfront vibe which serves up excellent food and drink. The panoramic sea views from every point make it a place to be.

If you are in Southsea we enjoy eating at www.thebriny.co.uk. Beautiful views and not touristy.

The Vasa is a more impressive ship in its architecture and completeness, but the archeological finds and social history pieced together and literally sifted from silt is unbeatable.

Similar in rural Georgia. Drove to the only diner in town, 150m away, after trying and failing to work out how to cross a thundering road on foot. The good news? It was a dry county so no chance of DUI to get home after.

The Gundestrup Cauldron was likely made between 150 BC and 0 BC/AD. Crafted in embossed silver, it may have originated in an area of Thracian and Celtic interaction, but came to be deposited as a probable offering in a Danish bog, perhaps taken there as a gift or booty.

First visit. Long overdue. We spent much of the last three days walking and hopping on and off the commuter ferries. We live in Edinburgh 🏰 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
