I spent the last 4 days sailing and now that I'm home, I keep catching myself swaying to waves that aren't there anymore.

A dock lined with sailboats and powerboats, with weathered wooden archways over the dock.

The wooden archways are placed along the dock. The first frames the photo at the top. The second has a crow perched atop it in the middle. The third and farthest has a seagull, also perched in the middle. The grey and soft blue of the sky is the same grey and blues of all the sailboats lined up. A distant line of evergreens breaks up the otherwise drab color palette.

Friday Harbor, San Juan Island, wa. I didn't capture the feeling and framing quite right, but the crows were fun.

The Avatar movie has one of the sloppiest plots I've seen in... I wish it was a while but that seems to be the norm these days. It was pretty. It has nostalgia. I don't need to ever see it again. Shit even Korra has a better plot and I've got beef with s1 & 2 being mostly unrelated to 3 & 4.

I'm too exhausted by 2026 to do this, but hi there #PortfolioDay

I have done barely anything this year, and I meant to have many more pages of Hellhound, the comic you can read for free (link in quoted post), but life has beaten me down

please look at my art anyway, some day I will have more!

These chodes have also never seen a map. The distance from Paris to Africa is less than north to south Texas. They're have been boats criss crossing the med for thousands of years. It's not that far.

I don't know about your area but in my fire district we have a couple people who come in every couple months for a sharps container. We take their old full ones and dispose of them.

I plan on it. Because I'm not a kid person, I don't like being around kids much so I'm not missing out at all to just nope out of time spent with them.

I visited by brother and his plague children over a week ago and I'm still sick. Going forward I'm going to ask if they're sick before I make the 2 hour drive because I don't care if they're family, they're not worth getting sick over.

*sigh*
If your Kickstarter video/image is AI, I won't back it.
If your book has an AI cover, I won't read it.
If you're a public supporter of AI use for creative work, I will unfollow you.
I cannot stress enough how offensive I find AI use in the arts. It is outright theft, it is lazy, it is gross.

Honestly I'm not terribly surprised. He seems to have been headed that direction for a while (not supporting artists).

A nice take on capitalism is bad is The Dark Lord Of Derkholm, also by her. Something about your description of people to be mad at made me think of that one in particular

We brought in a patient once for mixing explosives and alcohol and forgot to check pockets on the way to the hospital. Luckily someone did just before the inevitable MRI and found a mortar in the patient's back pocket. Oops

There's a bunch of teenagers being teenagers in line for the ferry back to Seattle and honestly it's pretty fun to listen to. They're loud, having a good time, and subjecting everyone in line to their karaoke. Honestly, good for them.

A white man with a mop of curly hair kneeling in an aisle inspecting a sail. On either side of him is floor to ceiling shelves of mainsails and headsails.

We found a fantastic secondhand yard of all things sailboat. We needed a jib since the Genoa was way overpowering our little Ericson 27 and buying new was way too expensive. It was like a damn candy store.

A small part of the entire artwork. Crocheted corals of various kinds and other reef-life in yellows oranges and reds. It doesn’t even begin to capture the beauty of it irl

Went to a marine exhibition at the Bundeskunsthalle today. Great exhibition all the way through. But I was particularly stunned by the crocheted coral reef.

I think this is one of the most beautiful and impressive works of art Iβ€˜ve seen. Itβ€˜s a collaboration by a few hundred (>1000?) artists.

My partner knows his value:

"I don't understand how any woman is straight. These men are fuckin disgusting and won't care for themselves and their environment and I am a fuckin catch apparently"

He just cleaned the men's bathroom, probably for the first time since he was last on shift a week ago.

I've barely started listening to The River Has Roots by @amalelmohtar.com and this is one of the most beautiful and captivating audiobooks I've listened to in years. I highly recommend good headphones, to better immerse oneself.

If you're looking for another drama where the medicine is actually good, Code 3 is a movie about pre-hospital care. It's the only realistic depiction I've seen of EMS, complete with burnout.

I wonder if there's similar research to art and if so how the two compare.

Look at the things that have been super huge in the last years. How many of them have been things like Heated Rivalry or Sinners or Kpop Demon Hunters?

And how many of them have been the white supremacists' stripped down erase-overse? None.

Listen, I've had to read historic documents for a college job. Deciphering cursive was useful, but I'm literally the only person I know personally who has ever needed it. It's archaic in a time when us kids are falling so behind in basics like math, reading comprehension, and critical thinking.

I can't help but think about how much hate Hayden Christenson got, and that was not his fault. It was writing and directing. Now to think of these new child actors, they have no idea the amount of hate they're going to end up with as they grow up.

the thing about "i'll just pirate it" for this HP show is that it is *ruined* i literally cannot enjoy it, she has put her disgusting transphobic veneer over all of it and so it literally cannot be enjoyed, even if I wanted to try (I don't) I would see her smarmy cigar smoking face in my mind's eye

Poor guy at work has allergies so bad I thought he asked "do you lick plates."

He said "do you like plants." I was so confused for a solid 30 seconds.
