Timo Werner excelling vs Insigne “flopping” is all down to the quality of team the player went to.
Insigne was never at the level Werner is currently in MLS but going to a bad MLS team made him look a lot worse than he actually was.

It also hasn’t made much sense that Philly hasn’t played Iloski at striker when that’s clearly his best position (he scored today as one)
It remains baffling to me that San Diego let a top 3 striker (Iloski) in MLS go last season.
Ingvartsen has been good but still…it’s never made sense.
“Cheshire cat smile” “simplicity”
Wouldn’t be a Dunny game without a few Dunnyisms
Pretty crazy that RSL gets punished for having a sub take too long while Falcon stays on the ground for more than 20 seconds for what wasn’t a foul and doesn’t have to come off
It’ll always be funny how big a deal was made about Kipp Keller given how big of a bust he was. Then you look through the rest of the draft classes before and after and you find a bunch of very good to elite CBs.
An interesting note from SJ-LAFC: 3 of the CBs came from the first round of the draft
San Jose wowzers
Good to hear that Rusnak is fine. I really liked the front 4 at the end and I think you could tweak it and get Ferreira as the LW on the field with Rusnak.
But options all around in the attack and midfield. Kingston is a sneaky good technician and may start challenging Dotson for minutes.
Agreed. To your first question: I think it’s a bit of both
Messi is so clinical. What a goal! Poor defending though knowing he wants to get on his left foot. But such a quick small touch to open up the shooting angle
The Rapids would be a great franchise if they could move to a downtown stadium.
As it stands, they’re among the bottom 3 teams in terms of 30 minute population radius.
Yeah watching it back that should be an easyish claim
2023 draft:
Bombito, McGuire, Munie, Ageymang, Fodrey, Arfsten, Eneli, Privett
2022 draft:
Bender, Celentano, Bartlett, Bouda, Schulte, Murphy, Becher, Oluwaseyi, Markanich, Ntsabeleng, O’Toole, Loffelsend
As much as people crap on the MLS draft, there’s still a ton of players coming from it.
2024 draft:
Spicer, Frederick, Farrington, Murrell, Ricketts, Bright, KKR, Leroux, Mboma Dem, Duggan, Antino Lopez, and a few more I didn’t mention
That’s a lot of players playing serious MLS minutes.
I don’t understand how it takes so long for MLS refs to call the center ref to the video board.
Feels like they want to be the center of attention.
Only positive of this result is that full concentration can be given to the stretch run into the World Cup. Honestly every game is winnable sans maybe the away game at LAFC.
Would love to see this team rip off 6 wins in a row going into that match.
Genuinely disgraceful and corrupt refereeing.
Such a terribly refereed match to end. 6 minutes is horrific.
Albert Rusnak you are himothy
Every time we see Nouhou high and wide on the left, the team has a better shape to get into dangerous spots. And this has been true for years now.
Maybe it’s game state or maybe it means guys are on certain parts of the field when this happens but it obviously is a thing that should be recreated.
Two really poor moments from Nouhou there
Looks like it got under Rusnak’s feet super quickly
Oof what a chance
As soon as we got back into the game we started losing control of the game. Bad rushed passes and bad fouls
Hard to tell watching the halftime replay who was supposed to be marking who. Pretty disappointing that Schmetz didn’t learn much from leg 1 given how similar the routine looked.
Okay he heard me
Does Nouhou know he can attack now that we’re down by 3 essentially?
Dominated twice on set pieces in the series. Hard to win that way
Great ball by Cristian. And fantastic finish by Rusnak. Not an easy one
