Nope, but I'd say it's a dead handy colour to have as it'll probably unlock combos you may not previously have had access to

this is cool because it's a very obvious concept but it's neat to see it laid out in data!

In the long river of life, each of us will encounter various challenges and difficulties. Sometimes, these challenges will make us feel extremely painful and powerless, as if life is putting endless pressure on us. However, it is precisely in these difficult moments that we can truly appreciate the profound meaning of "Ah, good, hard, don't give up." This article will explore the resilience and tenderness contained in "Ah, good, hard, don't give up" from multiple perspectives, hoping to bring some inspiration and reflection to everyone.

I. Ah, good, hard, don't give up: The power of resilience

Definition of resilience

The word "resilience" usually refers to the ability to maintain a firm will and perseverance when facing difficulties and setbacks, and not to give up easily. This quality has been demonstrated by countless heroes and great figures throughout human history. As the ancient Chinese poet Du Fu wrote, "I will climb to the summit and look down upon all the mountains below." It is this tenacious quality that allows us to persevere through adversity and ultimately achieve success.

Manifestations of Tenacity

(1) Facing Difficulties Without Backing Down

In life, we will always encounter unexpected difficulties. In these moments, resilient people choose to face them bravely rather than run away. Just like Forrest Gump, the protagonist of the movie *Forrest Gump*, although he wasn't highly intelligent, he ultimately achieved his dream through his tenacious character.

(2) Growing Through Setbacks

The equivalent of touch screen UIs I modern cars and appliances. But worse.

People actually want buttons and switches, but ones that have been carefully considered as necessary to efficient use and functionality.

Itโ€™ll come back around eventually.

Dreamt of taking part in a Chinese festival where everyone wears cardigans showing their favourite foods. Yes, some were a bit garish Xmas jumper but most were pretty cool.

Never thought about it much before, but I think the way browsers handle malformed HTML is a good example of that criticality.

Forgot to close some markup tag? No bother, it'll just fix it rather than hit the user with an error message or fall over.

Finally got round to watching, the bit about criticality vs correctness was really interesting.

Putting labels on the types of thinking in architecture is quite helpful. I'd say I do flip between lateral / linear frames to figure things out. I might push that a bit further.

If anyone has links, that'd be great. I'd like to chew some more.

Especially where the philosophy creates constraints. That's when this stuff stops being ephemeral and becomes really interesting.

When it comes to building my own side-projects, I have always leaned a certain way when approaching things, but up until now, haven't really thought about articulating what those points are.

Goodness. ยฃ179.2million on planning to build a scrapped tunnel under stonehenge.

I don't get how this stuff happens. It takes me back to being a kid being explained some lofty concept by an adult, and it's just too nebulous to grasp.

I made a tiny tool for quickly sharing small datasets (< ~1000 rows) without uploading any data to a server.

๐Ÿ”— ziptbl.com

It compresses the data into the link itself, so thereโ€™s no account, hosting, or storage layer involved.

Here's Florence Nightingale's famous ๐Ÿ“Š data:

I mean, I get it, I understand the direction of travel, but this feels rather unfriendly to people dipping toe in waters of self-employment.

Also, as noted by anon, it's all but forcing you to hand over financial data to a commercial vendor.

Additionally, they want quarterly submissions on top of your yearly submission.

This effectively forces you to use a third party vendor in order to comply with HMRC.

Another day another convo with a freelancer astonished at HMRC 'Making Tax Digital' plan.

If you're not self-employed this is about moving to digital-based accounting.

The new tax submission process is only possible via apps registered to use their API.

Double checked on this. I thought it was a hard requirement for them to inform customers directly. They updated ICO as required but not great they still didn't take the step to inform everyone.
