Needless to say. I never returned to that event.
My club has numerous gay members and we have all been able to talk openly with all the members without judgement (obviously with everyone keeping it PG in polite company)
We are a very open minded and accepting bunch.
As for us gays. I've never been made to feel different or like I can't be honest and express myself. The only time I have had a bad experience with an event where it was almost assumed that I had ulterior motives, the event assumed I was straight and it was based on me being male, not gay.
While I pesonally don't necessarily agree 100% with these rules (as someone who has tried to join clubs as a sole male), I understand why they are in place to prevent spaces becoming intimidating and/or unwelcomming for women.
My club has such rules and our board is a 50/50 split of men and women
Our national association has a massive drive to encourage women to try naturism and even has a dedicated podcast, women in focus, dedicated to amplifying email voices.
Most clubs here have rules in place that aim to reduce gender imbalance by limiting the number of single men who can join.
Hmm. Certainly not the case as I see it here in the UK. While there is very much a gender imbalance in participation, with far more men seeking membership of clubs than women, I have never experienced women's voices being diminished in favour of men's. If anything, the opposite is true.
