Every single article I read about Madonna at Coachella mentioned that she’s 67. Not one article I read about Nine Inch Nails at Coachella mentioned that Trent’s 60.
ISN’T THAT WEIRD?
It’s almost as if everything Madonna has ever said about misogyny is true, or something. 🤷‍♂️

The United States is destroying itself | Rebecca Solnit The daily news can’t adequately convey the administration’s sabotaging of our government, economy, alliances and environment

"We do not need to understand these criminals in order to try to contain and ultimately remove them. They will not last for ever, and we need to think about what happens when they’re gone."

Tomorrow, I’ll post a reminder to the GOP about book bans and censorship :-)}

Yeah. I'll forgive, too. I'd rather just forget in his case. Forget he exists. Anyway, he's not actually asking for forgiveness. He's asking to be rewarded with a seat in the senate. Too many are happy to give it to him for reasons they don't even realize.
Patriarchy is alive and as toxic as ever.

People who are not bigots do not spout slurs at marginalized groups and they don't keep Nazi tattoos until forced by public exposure to remove them. And even if he could be forgiven for ALL of his bullshit, he still absolutely has no business being a senator.

That asshole assassinated his own image. It's pathetic how you reject the evidence of your eyes and ears in the very same way MAGA does for Trump. Some people clearly just prefer bigoted, abusive assholes.

I'm so tired of expediency. It seems always to be at the expense of women and vulnerable communities. WTF, Warren...😑

What equivocating bullshit. You clearly do not have standards around equality or principled leadership. You only have preferences: white male grievance, entitlement, and domination complex, all masquerading as leadership.

Invoking Lincoln’s flaws from more than 150 years ago is not a defense of Platner’s slurs, rape apologism, racism, homophobia, Nazi tattoos, and glorification of genocide today. It’s evasion. Platner’s record stands on its own; you can't launder it through the failures of long-dead presidents.

I don't need to prove he's not a Nazi. HE needs to prove he's a leader. And leaders don't spout slurs, blame women for rape, call Black people cheap, espouse homophobia, sport Nazi tattoos until forced to remove them, or say it would have been fun to have fought in the "Indian wars."
He's no leader.

Framing poor Grammy as a victim is the perfect example of my point. And BTW, historically speaking, predation and bigotry were the purview of white men, and so was the authority to fantasize and direct all stonings. The beauty of being progressive is that it leaves violence & bigotry in the past.

I don't play favorite Prez Pick of the Week like so many Dems, but over the course of the past year, I have decided that Ossoff is my 2028 presidential hopeful. I know there's no real buzz and he has said nothing about running, but among all the potentials, he's the one who moves me most. 🤞🏻

I'd give American Republicans some credit, too. I'm so sick of their phony "antisemitic!" gasps every time someone speaks against the genocide in Gaza.

It's not about you. It's about not muddying Hockney's name and body of work.

It's not Hockney and nearly 800 people have reposted it. My being correct is not the point. Your spreading of counterfeit work as art is the point. Would you like it if someone attributed a lie to you and then spread it like a virus across social media? Delete it. It's a damaging lie. Delete it.

Linda Sanchez (D) is our rep in congress & Lisa Calderon(D) is our assembly rep. Rs finally lost citywide this year because people were actually made aware of their politics. The election was much more widely publicized & voter turnout was way more heavily encouraged. Informed voters vote Democrat!

It is a big deal, because Vinatieri held on for so long (since 2006!), but that's mainly about the old boys club and because city politics pretend to be about nonpartisan civic management. Many people just vote the name they know without recognizing the political coalition behind it.

Whittier is not some deep red city. In 2024, we were 48% registered Democrats and 26% Republicans, with 10% no party preference. Harris won 57% of the vote in 2024. We have a loud conservative segment, but we are a Democratic city.
