Wrong question. More useful to consider GNS an art tradition, like Dada or method acting---a set of assertions / aesthetics you choose to practice. A framework, not fact.

Part of a personal recent enjoyment in jankier looking games comes from the failures of the modern AAA market to capture the ideation of the imagined monstrous that older gen games had to lean on due to lower polycount, texture compression, etc.
