Already finding some gold

Hi everyone, I recently started a fellowship at Harvard's Berkman Klein Center where I'll research AI's impact on museums, tech and visual culture. I'll be writing a little, making a little, talking a little, if you want to follow along there is a blog w/ newsletter jaymollica.com/blog/
It went along the lines of "Joan Didion grew up near a river so here is an artwork titled River"
I went and as an art hater I would say Als is just trying to be confrontational. I don’t think there was a profound message to be found in it but I also think he just likes saying names of people he knows out loud. Also his Didion exhib was so profoundly incoherent I’m still mad about it
As an institution you don't have to just be sad about stuff. You can also refuse to comply, go to court, fight, or shut yourself down.
I tried to take a pic of that Cannon when I visited. The security guard told me to delete it from my phone. Turns out the lender does not permit photos. The lender is the US department of interior. Is this a new policy? Seems like a strange request from a public institution?

Wikipedia may seem like an unlikely site of resistance, but in an era of escalating censorship, disinformation, & erosion of public trust, Wikipedia is a model for collective governance led by next generation of cultural workers, @alexmar.bsky.social reports: prismreports.org/2025/05/12/w...
