I have funding for a 2-year dry-lab postdoc to join our team @humanevouu.bsky.social 🧪 (Deadline Oct 21st)
The project will utilize modern and #aDNA data from humans and sheep to study environmental adaptation (including method development and simulations).

Late ISBA Post!
Some of us from the University of Tartu were in Turin for @isba11.bsky.social. I had the chance to do a poster presentation and give an espresso talk about my project. I would like to thank the organizers for the opportunity, and to all those who showed interest in my presentations!
I will be recruiting two PhDs for my ERC Project HERDPATH - let's discover out how livestock and pathogens evolved together using #aDNA. Projects will be animal or pathogen focused but will be in dialogue.
Details at my quaint website below. Deadline 3rd October.

🧵 Exciting news from our lab #CpgSthlm! 🥳
Thousands of years ago, mammoths roamed, and so did their fascinating microbial companions. Our latest study, published in 𝘊𝘦𝘭𝘭, brings them to light 🦣🦠🧬

Shameless promotion from #isba11 - I'll be hiring PhDs to start early 2026 (plus postdocs starting later), using #adna to study livestock and pathogen coevolution, particularly looking at inbreeding and immune gene evolution!

What a week! 🎉 Big thanks to @isba11.bsky.social for hosting an incredible ISBA conference — so well organized and full of great science.
Our genetic kinship estimation tool “DeepKin” is now available! Our neural network models trained on simulated data work effectively on real ancient data from diverse backgrounds and often outperform available tools. @compevohumang.bsky.social onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...
🌾 Agriculture didn’t always spread with mobility of people.
New ancient DNA research shows that in western Anatolia, while communities stayed put, farming and village life spread through the movement of ideas and practices.

Cool! Does this also cover Turkish researchers who can’t even get a visa appointment to attend conferences? 🤯
