The richest man owns X.

The second and third richest men control Google.

The fourth richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

The fifth richest man owns The Washington Post.

And now the sixth richest could soon take over both Paramount and Warner Bros.

See the problem here?

Remember when free compilers and languages where a revolution. It was good while it lasted, now let’s close everything up again.

Interesting, although old news - PGP is still broken by reality. So I’ll continue to wait for an openssh extension which is easy to integrate and adopted by all big vendors.

4-panel vertical comic. (1) 100 Years Ago [two people standing next to bicycle with small car nearby] PERSON 1: It’s too dangerous riding a bike with these cars around. I should get a car, too. (2) 50 Years Ago [two people between smaller car and bigger car] PERSON 2 with short hair: Small cars are less safe in collisions with larger vehicles, so I should get a bigger one. (3) Today [two people between big car and even bigger car] PERSON 1: Everyone has huge SUVs now. If I don’t get the biggest one, I’m putting my family at risk. (4) Soon [two people next to large armored car with spiked clubs attached] PERSON 2: If I don’t install more whirling spike clubs, I’ll be destroyed by all the other drivers who...

Ich fänd es gut, aber spricht es nicht wieder die gleiche Basis an? Und die Grüne Wählerbasis ist ja durchaus fragmentiert und wurde nie aufgeräumt *blick auf die Hahnemann-Fraktion.

Not only a lovely and funny campaign - love the light it sheds onto people doing such important work for our society. Hopefully a great reminder for all of us the next time it gets a bit stressful during a train ride, to recognise the train personell more.

Honestly I know nothing about Maria Corina Machado - but it sure does help knowing there are people getting honored for democratic work and ideals. Looking forward learning more about her work.

Bsp

Ich: Schön hier.
A: Ja, wir habe ja auch keine Ausländer.

When I hear people talk about deregulation, what I'm really hearing them say is: "any limitation on harming people is a limitation on profits".

Given all the different areas (easm, #appsec, #vulnmanagement,…) and enterprise tools in #cybersecurity it is hard to efficiently manage alerts. Anyone aware of report standard efforts above VEX and VDR? 🤔 #infosec

This sounds sad. There are plans to visit the East Canada at one point - I guess then I’ll be able to experience what currently is hard for me to comprehend.

Not needing to drive for a doctors appointment or to buy that forgotten piece of butter does indeed sound like oppression to me! 🤭 I all seriousness, gosh the dependence on cars in England is one of the big things keeping me from this country I otherwise adore.

Take labor markets. Employers look to grades, diplomas, and certifications to gauge candidates’ suitability for roles. These are a very coarse representation of a job candidate’s abilities. An AI system with access to, for example, a student’s coursework, exams, and teacher feedback, as well as detailed information about possible jobs, could provide much richer assessments of which employment matches do and don’t make sense.

One way is by enhancing voter representation. By capturing the nuances of each individual’s political preferences in a way that traditional voting systems can’t, this system could lead to policies that better reflect the desires of the electorate. For example, you could have an AI device in your pocket—your future phone, for instance—that knows your views and wishes and continually votes in your name on an otherwise overwhelming number of issues large and small.

Enumerating the potential benefits of “AI” and accidentally describing a dystopian hellscape is a whole-ass genre. www.fastcompany.com/91002501/ai-...
