Ausvet are tackling AMR with a One Health approach. We're proud to share the development of AMRIS, an Antimicrobial Resistance Information System. A state-of-the-art digital infrastructure turning lab and surveillance data into actionable evidence for reporting, policy, surveillance and stewardship!
#AMR2026Sydney The person wearing the shoe knows where it pinches. The AMR gap is scientific, financial and political. Only 7% of global R&D funding in LMIC goes to research. We diagnose the problem but must fund the fix and measure impact. Sustainability should be country-led not donor dependent.
Our expert, Skye Badger is at #AMR2026Sydney. Dame Sally Davies has set the scene with an urgent call for One Health action on antimicrobial resistance. Her key takeaway from the panel: let's call AMR what it is: deadly infections with no cure. Time for coordinated action

We have officially wrapped up our pilot program in Dong Thap, Vietnam, for Lirs.io. The team successfully tagged 598 dogs and feedback from owners and vet authorities has been overwhelmingly positive! Congrats to Ausvet's cuong nguyen, Dong Thap SDAH and Nông Lâm University for leading the efforts!
2025 was a big year of impactful science here at Ausvet. From the bush to the ocean, Australia and abroad, we worked across an incredible range of challenges. We are excited to continue strengthening animal health systems to support global health and food security. Reach out to collaborate. #epi
Of course for those of us with pets at home, we also appreciate the often-thankless task our veterinarians do for our fur-families. So today, #internationaldayofveterinarymedicine , don't forget to #thankaveterinarian , for their efforts in safeguarding animals and ultimately humans. 🙏
Today is #InternationalDayofVeterinaryMedicine. For Ausvet this is an important day celebrated annually as it recognises veterinarians' crucial role in animal health, animal welfare, public health, biosecurity and food security, something all of the vets here are passionate about!

AMR is a top 10 global health risk affecting humans, animals, agriculture, food security, biodiversity, the environment.
It is happening now.
At Ausvet, we work to strengthen biosecurity, husbandry practices, and disease surveillance to keep animals healthy, reducing the medication needed.

After the devastating Australian black summer bushfires, we went into the field, investigating bushfire risk factors for livestock. The result? The first systematic investigation of its kind which identified key risk areas and developed a comprehensive preparedness manual for producers. #WFED
This is John Snow. No, not *that* one.
During a cholera outbreak in 1854, John used data collection, spatial mapping, and reasoning to show cholera was waterborne, tracing it to the Broad Street pump. His groundbreaking work reshaped how we understand disease outbreaks.
Thanks John! @TEPHINET
