Here comes a long weekend for many. But these are rarely a full set of days-off for Canada's working screenwriters/creators. Good news: ink Sunday sprints online: bring homework, what it is is your business. Ours is camaraderie. *appropriate* PJs ok. www.inkcanadascreenwritersandfriends.com

On April 1, 1999, Nunavut was created.
The largest and northernmost territory of Canada, it has many symbols that reflect the history, people, wildlife and culture of the landscape.
This is the story behind those symbols.

William Shatner is shown from the chest up, standing in front of a deep red velvet curtain backdrop. He has short gray hair and is wearing a dark navy button-up shirt over a black T-shirt. He faces the camera directly with a slight, closed-mouth smile.
Happy birthday to William Shatner, born on this day in 1931 in Montreal!
In his career, he has earned two Emmys, the Order of Canada, the Governor General's Performing Arts Award, a Golden Globe and has a star on Canada's Walk of Fame.
belated: so glad you liked it, we did too :)

Charles Best standing outdoors in front of a two-storey brick house. He is leaning against the front of a car, smiling, and wearing a light-colored jacket over a shirt and tie. The house behind him has shuttered windows and a central doorway, with a chimney visible on the left side of the roof. Trees and grass surround the building. The photograph is in black and white and framed from about mid-torso upward.
The work Charles Best did in the discovery of insulin was so critical that Sir Frederick Banting shared half his Nobel Prize money with him.
Eventually, the Nobel Prize Committee apologized for omitting him, and stated it was a mistake.
This is his story.

Now that the Adobe debacle has started to die down, please donโt forget about the animators. There are a lot of crafts, including animation, that have gotten the shit end of the stick during bargaining for decades. My craft is dying. We need more in house animation.
