Who else will be at a #nokings protest this Sat Mar 28, and where? Here in South Central PA alone, protests are planned in 12+ locations including Harrisburg, Lancaster, and York -- and I plan to join at least one. A few photos here from some of the many protests I joined in 2025.

The @pcrm.org has petitioned HHS and USDA to withdraw new Dietary Guidelines over unlawful influence from meat & dairy industries.
PCRM’s legal action in 1999 successfully limited industry influence for a quarter century. I’m rooting for another successful legal fight!

- This was the 2nd or 3rd such event at this location in less than a week.
- There were numerous sister events happening within an hour’s drive.
- The weather was 🥶.
I was also encouraged by the volume of friendly honks from drivers crossing the square — 80%, I’d guesstimate!

My sign for today’s “ICE Out For Good” at the York City, PA Continental Square, and a couple photos of the event.
I was encouraged to see ~ 200 fellow humans there, especially considering:
- 47 won this county with 62% of the vote in Nov 2024....
The new Dietary Guidelines include progress but still reflect industry influence.
They promote meat and dairy linked to chronic disease instead of clearly prioritizing plant-based nutrition.
Science should lead nutrition policy.

We have not forgotten Mr. Perry's complicity in the events around the Jan 6 2021 attack, nor have we forgotten that he was the only PA member of Congress to oppose awarding medals to officers who defended the Capitol.
Ha! Two can play at that game. One of our members promptly called the local police herself, and they promptly dispatched an officer to escort our representatives into the building to deliver our letters....
Then a @pa10dn.bsky.social action at our US House "representative" Scott Perry's Mechanicsburg office. Sixty of us -- mostly retirees -- came with letters to deliver to Perry's taxpayer-funded office. A building staffer barred our entrance, saying "we have the police on standby." ....

These PETA investigations have led to numerous cruelty-to-animals convictions, while the farms have removed false “humane” claims from their advertising language, and lost the business of major supermarket chains.
PETA investigators have revealed cruelty and unsanitary conditions at turkey supplier Plainville Farms in Pennsylvania, Oakridge Dairy in Connecticut, Farmer Focus chicken company in Virginia, Grand Barr goat dairy in Oregon, and many others.
