Latest MacOS update is ~19GB and release note highlights:
- 8 new emojis
- bug fixes
- security patches
- a keyboard shortcut to mark reminders as urgent
- smaller tab bar in safari
I better be able to see every strand of hair on the Sasquatch emoji for this to be 19GB
I thought those numbers looked great, then I realized there was a 5th digit before the decimal 🤯
Makes sense that it’s not a huge factor for subways, but at least in Seattle it’s been substantial for the light rail.
Isn’t it primarily eminent domain lawsuits?
More text requires more effort to read and understand. There are more places where something could be incorrect. Now with AI it also consumes more of the context window.
It also takes more work to change more code should the need arise.
So cool to hear that they have geography-themed connect the dot placemats to keep the kids entertained at these big important dinners!
I hate having the opening talk session, until it’s over and I don’t have to stress about my talk for the rest of the day.
I’m not on the dev team but I’ve heard they do accept PRs from new contributors over there!
If you can’t tell something is indented, your tab width is too low.
Our building has a slack 🤮, but if you chose the wrong internet provider the internet will reliably go down at 9:13AM during Monday standup every single week.
Surely it takes you well over 4 hours to write an article that is a 13 minute read.
I highly recommend checking out a window manager like aerospace or komorebi that implement their own sane version of virtual desktops instead of using the insane native one.
This is how I represent the empty state of an Optional value in typesafe-ts/optional. Gotta support null/undefined as valid values!
Man I have the opposite problem. Takes 25 minutes when I’m practicing then when I get nervous on stage I talk faster 🙈
+1 I prefer clusterfuck
I have many works exhibited there
That’s so cool! I like spacial organization of content.
Have you found the hue scene limit yet?
At current prices demand certainly will go up. But prices need to go up at some point, and we don’t know by how much. If your bet is “a lot” then it seems likely AI demand drops from current levels.
Vite 8 release?
Wouldn’t want them to be doing any more than that.
I like your take. A lot of the comments seem upset they’re just standing around. Have those people not seen what these guys do when they ARE “working”? This is much better
It’s extremely hard to put $100b/yr to use effectively for growing a business at their scales. That’s why companies often switch to a dividend or buybacks with their profit.
I know it works too! As a PM @ Microsoft I did this for gaming docs. Later as an EM at another company I had designers in the PR flow and had a dev pair w/design for 2hrs/week doing bug bashing and all the UI issues in prod disappeared.
This stuff is so easy idk why people still have these issues.
Turns out I’m really bad at this whole bracket thing
Homie out here performing digital brain surgery successfully
It’s also about incentives. A full stack eng doesn’t get a promotion for shipping world class UIs.
If the org cares about quality, give designers a live preview and require their approval to merge PRs.
It just requires leadership to care and imbue it in the process.
Docs suffer the same problem.
