The WaPo editorial board when Republicans gerrymander in Texas versus when Democrats gerrymander in Virginia.
I think @eldiagram.bsky.social and @themassreview.bsky.social were the fastest from submission to publication for me.
Washington Post Trump warns ‘a whole civilization will die’ if Iran doesn’t make a deal The president had issued a deadline of 8 p.m. Eastern time for Iran to open up the Strait of Hormuz, pledging destruction by midnight if leaders don’t comply. April 7, 2026 at 9:22 a.m. EDT26 minutes ago 2 min
Completely unstable and perilous. The House must bring up impeachment articles, and the Senate needs to remove a president who wants to commit war crimes. We cannot sit idly by as Donald Trump threatens to end an entire civilization.
I think poets should get to be like fashion critics and declare what word trends are cool or not. Recently I have noticed people using the word "opportunity" a lot more outside of the work setting. Like someone called a crush an opportunity.
I experienced some emotional flashbacks after reading about the files too. I did a jigsaw puzzle and I noticed it helped me shift out of that state. I hadn't done one since I was a kid, but a neighbor was giving one away. It helps interrupt the rumination.
Being a poet in SC is maybe the funniest thing I've ever done.
Boy was this singer songwriter based in Nashville surprised when Gov. McMaster called him up and asked him to be SC new poet laureate. Especially since the art commission had already done an application process and created a list of finalists. Finalists that are poets and live in the state of SC.
I love that you can see the tension in the mother's arms combing out the hair. 👏
Oh no the Bradford Pear trees are in bloom.
EXCLUSIVE: At more than 30 installations, U.S. commanders told troops the war on Iran is a Christian war.
The Military Religious Freedom Foundation has been “inundated” with more than 110 complaints.
One NCO said they were told the U.S. war is to bring about Armageddon and the return of Jesus…
I'm going to AWP with the intention of making some poet friends, so if you see me looming nearby while you catch up with your friends, that's all i'm doing ok?
I love when a poem is successful even without concrete images.
This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.
The moon belongs to the poets, not Elon Musk.
the rest of us will have to become sports betters.

1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.
Hundreds of kids are still detained.
We’ll let the children’s words speak for themselves. 🧵
Just to throw this in at the end: if you can afford a donation, the Midwest Immigration Bond Fund is helping detainees post bond and get them out of custody ASAP. A worthy cause.
I want another RHOSLC reunion but Heather attends by zoom and has to be unmuted when it is her turn to talk.
screenshot of text from Adam Serwer in The Atlantic: "The secret fear of the morally depraved is that virtue is actually common, and that they're the ones who are alone. In Minnesota, all of the ideological cornerstones of MAGA have been proved false at once. Minnesotans, not the armed thugs of ICE and the Border Patrol, are brave. Minnesotans have shown that their community is socially cohesive - because of its diversity and not in spite of it. Minnesotans have found and loved one another in a world atomized by social media, where empty men have tried to fill their lonely soul with lies about their own inherent superiority. Minnesotans have preserved everything worthwhile about "Western civilization," while armed brutes try to tear it down by force."

ICE's decision to just leave cars abandoned in the roads is one of those dystopian things that makes you recoil in shock when you encounter it.
