Not everything that breaks is technically the fault of vibe coding but the kind of culture that would foster vibe coding is the kind that produces a lot of shit that breaks.

It is not animosity towards AI perse, but animosity towards how billionaires are able to do whatever they want to fast track whatever they want to do. Like to use jet engines as generators for their data center. We need regulations

When the internet came up, I had the feeling we were all exploring this new technology together, positive intent. Only later did the enshittification begin due to greed. Maybe that’s only my nostalgia though. Feels like our society has changed so much that we go straight into the greed stage now.

To me it feels a lot like around when the internet kicked off. Endless possibilities, the ideas kept you up at night and you wanted to dig into it non stop.
That kind of curious experimentation makes it hard to focus on the productive stuff. And the productive stuff is usually also kinda…boring?

Will add: coding was also seen as slop, until it got really good. Wonder what happens when we can’t recognize AI content as slop anymore

I checked out your website and most of the programs seemed to be focused on people starting their careers. What can/should people in their 40’s start doing?

Last week I spent 3 hours doing laundry at a local animal shelter. One of the most peaceful, purposeful things I’ve done. 10/10 will do again.

This morning marked a milestone.

It was my 365th day of my “365 days of Sun Project.”

Over the next couple months, I’ll be poring over the thousands of exposures I made and figuring out how to share the thing fully.

So, if anyone knows any gallery or publishing folks, hmu?

Get outside.

It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.
