Wait, aren't games supposed to be an escape from reality? 😔
Everything is terrible but at least we have the bright spot of this bright thing made by a bunch of bright people in a bright neighborhood about a bright person. There's a lot of heavy stuff to care about in the world, and also this. #alysaliu #bayarea #oakland #graffiti #streetart
It was either her or Snake Plissken
Drop a crush from your youth
That was pretty cool. I startes struggling through 1300 and, same, lost the plot entirely at 1200... though a (very) few loose phrases made it through to me. Fascinating!
You are in for so many treats. There is an exquisite vibe to your brother's tastes.
A.I. Capital investments sucked up all the funding in the room, so there's fewer studios and projects to hold roles for folks like me and a bunch of my pals right now. A.I. didn't take my "job" directly but it has definitely and tangibly reduced my opportunities.
Show me your Uber driver.
That was incredibly weird, unexpectedly earnest and charming, and without a single dull moment. I loved the offbeat protagonists, bizarre lineup of villains, and wtf lore. I don't know how I managed to dodge this movie and it's sequels for so long. Onto II!
I'm like, ok
I need to add that to my reading stack. I've really liked everything of his that I've read so far but I always forget to follow up on his name when I'm set loose in a bookstore.
What IS this movie.
Me:
I think I appreciated it more because a few other books in my pile were structured and paced as trilogy intros with dangling threads. I like that this story set me free to come back to later rather than necessitating rolling onto a next book right away, before minute details right away in me head
That ^ made me MUCH more interested in the follow-ups than if the opening story had been truncated to drip feed me into a sequel.
I picked up my copy more than a few years ago and it's been sitting in a stack that I'm presently chewing through. When I saw it was the first part of a trilogy, I was like aw fuck I don't want to commit to a long fantasy grind, but was really pleased that it told a complete story.
I just read my first Jemison, The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms, and I'm thrilled to read more - I loved how quickly she got the story and lore going.
Reporting in: Resident Evil Village was just right. I was sorry to lose Madam D so early in it, but oh my it was a thrill being chased, *bite fist*. More exquisite than any xenomorph.
Next up in my vibe parade is Hellblade II: Senua's Saga, but first - I've never seen any of the Phantasm movies. CU
jfc, SAME for the past week
Needed something cozy, finally started playing Resident Evil VIllage. *mommy
TBH it's a much more spot-on cyberpunky look. The original skin is just a cut out.
Yourself but as a cartoon.
One of my earlier works! I hear ppl like it some
Power, perspective, and a clean, distinct stylization were his calling cards. His runs on Amazing Spider-Man through the years are among my favorites.
Girldinner tonight: beef jerky and rum.
