✍️ Writers of Bsky: Instead of “what IP do you want to write for” I have a better question — What NICHE IP do you want to write for? The IP that you’re sure no one cares about but you.
I have a list:
- Scarecrow and Mrs King
- The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh
- Doyle’s The Lost World
- JAG (not NCIS)

Very good. We need the curtain pulled back on these guys by people insightful, independent and incisive enough to cut them and their bullshit down to size. Not surprised a screenwriter fits the bill - really nice job by Noah Hawley.

Aerial view of large scale devastation inflicted on the southern Lebanese town of Bint Jbeil, with an Israeli tank parked in the center of the photo.
This is what Israel has done to Bint Jbeil, my hometown in southern Lebanon
En zaragoza se han perdido 10.000 árboles desde 2022 y ahora nos están poniendo pantallas para proyectar imágenes de árboles???

I wrote this on the parallels between Suez 1956 and Iran 2026 – and how we should not presume that leaders in the past acted in more sophisticated or dignified ways than leaders today
The USA backing an antipope would be the last piece in the back to the 14th century real life puzzle we're all living in.
I'm literally years late to the party, but Cillian Murphy's radio program is the joy I didn't know I needed in these dark days...
Hoy es 14 de abril. Más que nunca recordamos que la legítima República española fue derribada por un golpe de estado fascista. ¡Viva la República!
This reality check by Rebecca Solnit grabs you right from the killer first sentence. Do yourself a favor & give it a read.

If Garbo was American there would be films and series about him already. His story is amazing.
Now that it's on Netflix I'm finally watching The Man in the High Castle.
I'm liking it all right, except that every five minutes I'm forced to mumble to myself "f***kin' Nazis", as a sort of protective spell.
Also, this show hits so much harder in 2026 than it did ten years ago...
Yes! That was a good one. Made me rethink my take on Stevens, whom I'd never paid much attention tbh. I'd like to read the book one day.
Yeah, if I was a twenty year old skinny kid wondering if I'd make it through alive, I'd be seriously tempted to boo those guys too...
I'm always fascinated by that generation of actors who fought in the war and afterwards spent their careers handling fake guns and fake violence in action films.
You probably know that anecdote of Ford bullying Wayne during the shooting because he hadn't served, and Montgomery speaking out for the poor guy, because Ford's behaviour on set was often disgusting, genius or not.
That's a great film indeed, and it helps that it's Montgomery not Wayne the leading man.
Though I agree with the premise of the thread that at some point in his career you can't blame studio typecasting: He liked playing his persona very much thank you, like a Robert Heinlein leading man...
You gotta catch them young. In the Big Trail he plays the hero as someone who doesn't quite quite believe he is finally the hero, and that insecurity is refreshing in John frickin' Wayne.

Investors placed an approximately $950 million bet on oil prices falling just hours before the U.S. and Iran announced a ceasefire, the latest large wager on the direction of the world's most traded commodity ahead of a major policy announcement by Trump.-Reuters
NOW: B52 bombers are literally in the air on their way to Iran and hundreds of thousands of Iranians are in the streets waving flags and surrounding bridges & power plants.
Difficult to imagine this has any precedent in modern warfare.

That's it. That would do.
A million dead or more. That's what it takes to a great power to stop embracing war as a desirable tool.
It will take enormous wisdom for the current super power to learn this unprompted.
NASA just dropped this image of Artemis II astronaut Christina Koch looking back at us. The first woman to ever see our planet in its entirety. I’m not crying you’re crying 🥹🔭🧪 📸: NASA
Fundraiser for librarian Luanne James, who stood up to her rightwing library board that demanded she remove kids books with any trace of LBGTQ+ characters or content.
"I will not comply."
They sacked her and cops escorted her out.
She's a hero. This banned author just donated.

Silly Little Hat.
Corto dirigido por Batt Maillie. Espectacular.
SO MANY BOOKS!!
Hey hey! It's the 2026 World SF bundle! 15 books for $30! storybundle.com/scifi get it before it's gone! Reposts appreciated! Some great stuff in here, if I say so myself. 😀
I stayed up late into the night waiting for the results of the Brexit referendum and I'm not even British! Somehow it already felt like a weird turning point for everybody. Trump winning in November was a punch on the face, but not a shock.
