In your position, what I've told you isn't really more valid than what they're saying. Words are cheap, however you've made some rash presumptions based on that alone which shows a clear bias in this situation. Hopefully I've at least given you cause for thought to take a better approach.

It goes without saying that you should be skeptical of any information that you come across, regardless of the source. Trust, but verify. In this case, you're blindly trusting the email correspondant without verifying the information that they provided but are still presenting it as fact.

It was simply the "final" message in a series of replies. It's not that deep, that's just how I tend to structure conclusive paragraphs.

The particular harassment I figured they were referring to was under the Reddit handle HotHumor7983, which Sketch admitted to owning in DMs with a community member after being banned from CVR. It's also worth mentioning that the very same account was also distributing the Quest build in Reddit DMs.

So "it's not sketch"... because they told you so? Lying on the internet isn't a new or foreign concept. I'd recommend being a little more skeptical and not believing a story with absolute no corroborating evidence to back up their claims. Your standard for validation is concerningly low.

Finally, a few days ago Sketch admitted to participating in targeted harassment. This completely contradicts one of your defences as quoted: "Sketch wouldn't have gained anything from this". It's not always about benefits. Dismissing accusations because you think you know someone is a huge mistake.

Additionally you completely left out the email found within the commit. By your account, it "has no affiliation with sketch", but you have absolutely no way of knowing that. It's actually quite a significant piece of evidence, which has been communicated to the individual you're defending.

If both mods were built on the same machine, which the information you redacted seems to suggest, saving the projects to different directories would ensure that they could be synced to different repositories. Both projects had the DebugSymbols flag enabled, which is why the build paths are included.

Redacting it for privacy is one thing, but intentionally obscuring a major similarity while pointing out a minor difference (which does have a plausible explanation) without making any mention of it is straight-up manipulative.

Simplifying it is one thing, but you're leaving out some very important information as well. It's a disengenuous representation of a more complex topic, and anyone has the right to know that.

Of course I know that the Windows users in both build paths was the exact same. We found that, after all. However, since you're attempting to spread awareness on this topic, it's not fair to redact important information that would otherwise allow others to make a more properly informed decision.

Dodging what, something that didn't happen? You won't even back up your statement with any tangible information or evidence. The only one dodging here is you, who chose to hide behind a mask instead of standing by their beliefs as themselves. That's cowardly behavior, plain and simple.

Last thing I'll say regarding this situation, Sketch has already asked people to stop speaking on his behalf like this. You're not doing him any favors.

Also, if you're going to demonstrate the difference in files paths, why censor part of it? Doesn't really help your case. That information was included due to a flag being intentionally enabled in publicly available files throughout multiple revisions and shouldn't be considered private information.

I don't know why Luc said that, we knew it was GitHub's web GPG key. It doesn't identify anyone, but it does validate that the information within the commit is legitimate including the email associated with that account. The importance of that email was communicated in our response to him.

You "heard" incorrectly. He was already dodging accountability by masking his identity, meaning he clearly knew his actions were problematic but still kept up the facade for quite a while. You can't trust someone to not repeat that same behavior while avoiding the mistakes that gave him away later.

To my knowledge, Sketch received a reply with information and findings related their case. I can only assume they either have not seen it, or have not made it public given the incorrect assertions and lacking information in your document. Might wanna ask about that first.

Yuhh WiVRn has been great, happy I don't have to keep building forks of both projects to get my Slimes working lol.
Especially in large lobbies, you might try disabling Interactions. It should help with the loading/unloading hitches, if not completely prevents them. YMMV

Please elaborate on how my comment was insensitive. There were no insults, personal attacks, or any other statements that could be perceived as insensitive. I simply corrected a misunderstanding on your part by highlighting the differences in the actions of two individuals you believed to be equal.

There's a pretty big different between masquerading your actions under a false identity to apply persistently negative tags on unsuspecting individuals to avoid accountability as opposed to a dev openly fucking around in a non-intrusive one-off way in a single instance.
