Alas and sigh or whatever 🤪

Same. I blame a career in writing.

That'll be pretty interesting, I bet. When I get the chance to test mine multiple times a day, it's all over the place. From super high to a little on the low side.

It's easy to get obsessed. I have a little heart rate monitor that I can't stop wearing at random times. It's fun to track.

I didn't even realize how much it was affecting me till I stopped.

Honestly, same. I haven't paused my account, but I've only made one post since sometime in November. I feel so much lighter and happier not being mired in that world right now.

Very much so. I made a bunch of changes to the kinds of work I'm pursuing last year and it's really helped me feel good about everything.

That sounds pretty much par for the course these days. I suspect lots of us are stuck in that fits and starts cycle right now.

Trying to organize my travel schedule for the first chunk of the year as much as possible and looking for work. I'm basically having a lot of conversations and sending lots of emails 😂

Sounds like the perfect time to cozy up with a beveridge and a book. I've got many hours to go before I can do the same.

It's 10:10 am!

Those days can be kind of nice. I've got an empty house all day, which is pretty rare, so I'm expecting a quiet day here as well.

Not dead, just quiet.

It's definitely not for everybody. I still oscillate wildly between hating it and loving it. Sometimes on a daily basis.

I'm so excited for this to come out.

British Columbia’s Crowsnest Highway is perfect for an idyllic road trip The British Columbia portion of Highway 3, also known as Crowsnest Highway, offers one hidden gem after another—from small town charm to hiking, camping, and canoeing.

Check out my latest for National Geographic!

Really happy with the way this turned out.

Slowly waking up and drinking coffee mostly. Will wander off to a creek later.

Sounds like a good excuse to just lie around doing nothing. Maybe reading a book, but mostly doing nothing.

Pretty much, yeah.

Oh yeah, we've also got the fans. It takes a lot to manage the heat 😂

9 months ago 1 0 1 0

We've got air conditioning, which helps a lot. The basement is also really cool, which helps. Plus we run away to the mountains, which is often less intense, heat-wise.

We'll be looking at similar, if not hotter temps than that this weekend. Probably a less oppressive heat, but still 🥵

Lot the challenge of trying to figure out what something is like that. I spent most of summer trying to figure out a beaver skeleton once.

I've spent most of the last little while in journalist mode, chasing down people to interview for a couple of stories I'm working on.

I always kind of forget how much I enjoy connecting with people about their passions. Really can't wait to see these articles in print.

The white-crowned sparrows are back! These are my absolute favourite seasonal visitors. I wished they stayed longer.

Love'em! I've never understood the hate they get.

I'm going to have to pay attention to that, then. I've got a website on there.

Ah, I didn't realize that. You're probably right, then. That's a shame.

Why do you think squarespace isn't going to last too much longer?

Mostly visiting my parents for Easter, but also fishing.
