Part of me was tempted to just wait it out, figuring it would eventually get better. It likely would NOT have. Really glad I decided to go in to get it checked out.

Whew! Iβve been stressed because I thought something Bad was happening to my right eye last few days but finally saw my eye doctor today, turns out I had a single tiny eyelash stuck in my upper right tear duct! She pulled it out and I feel fine now. Chances of this happening again are SO low.
Seriously, I would pay extra to have services STOP asking me over and over again whether I want to enable their AI assistant or AI tools etc.
YES IT IS
Nearly finished sorting my tax prep papers for sending to our accountant.
Trying to trick my subconscious into thinking this is fun (ha) by having old eps of X-Files playing on a second monitor. I'm up to S2 E12.
Anyone else remember Bree Sharp's David Duchovny song?

On a bit of a horror kick recently! Just finished THE RETURN by Rachel Harrison and am reading BURY OUR BONES IN THE MIDNIGHT SOIL by V.E. Schwab. Trying not to read horror right before I go to sleep, tho. π
Also readingTHE DUNGEON ANARCHIST'S COOKBOOK by Matt Dinniman (#3). I adore Princess Donut.
Thanks so much to all who responded to my foodie poll! Going to check out a lot of these resources.
Congrats to Sally Chen, SCBWI's Featured Illustrator this month! Find more of Sally's art at salpalc.art or on Instagram at www.instagram.com/salpal.c/

3/ I'd also appreciate people NOT posting screenshots of recipes from cookbooks. Pls note that just like other types of books, most cookbooks are protected by copyright law (depends on when they were published, country's copyright laws, etc). Thanks!
2/ Pls note I am NOT a vegetarian but am trying to mix in more veggie-only meals through the week.
Also note the "low-fat" is because my digestive system doesn't handle high fat foods (including avocado π’ & high-fat yogurt) well.
Some hard cheese ok but in small quantities.
To foodies out there: I'm looking for reliable sources of recipes for yummy, low-fat, vegetarian or seafood meals. Suggestions? Only looking for print cookbook suggestions if author has strong online presence (easier to find sample recipes to try, see if recipes suit my budget/lifestyle).

4/ I have mainly been duped by short videos of cute animals and kids (used to be my go-to quickie calming media) on YouTube and Instagram.
Now, if a video seems TOO cute or entertaining or amazing to be true, I always check user comments.
3/ It's one reason I posted today's Bluesky bird photographer poll:
bsky.app/profile/debb...
2/ I know there are tags out there, but I've also seen art that was clearly used AI-gen use these tags.
Instead, I lean now more toward following content created by specific (human) creators rather than relying solely on tags, feeds, and lists (unless lists are actively maintained & trustworthy).
To those who value human creativity over AI-generated:
Before "Liking" or sharing a short video, photo, comic, illustration, book, etc online or via word-of-mouth, *please* take time to verify whether it was made by a HUMAN creator or by AI.
I have been duped before as well!
Poll for bird people: Who are your favourite bird photographers on Bluesky? One of mine is @angrykem.bsky.social, whose #BirdOfTheDay posts are always interesting or entertaining to read plus she uses alt-text. #CommunityPoll
Pls only list photographers who post their OWN photos, thanks. #BirdSky
Interesting! I didn't know that Merriam-Webster had their own version of wordle.
Denis's post reminds me that I need to get back to doing this more regularly: pushing myself out of my creative comfort zone, to keep growing as an artist. I've been experimenting with different illustration styles but am keeping most of my expts off social media for now. Thx to Denis for inspiring!
#Uplift with some glass-blowing! Note you can use the "translate" option; tap three dots next to the post, select translate option.
I forget: is the proper order:
Sock - shoe - sock - shoe
Or:
Sock - sock - shoe -shoe
First is more efficient in leg movement terms.
a landscape mode photograph of an open book with two fingers holding down the lower edge of the right page. On that page is a image of an europen robin on a golden and dark pink floral background. On the left page is a flying Kestrel swooping in.

Hello. I have a question for artists/illustratorsβ¦Iβm searching for a trustworthy delivery company to send original artwork to the US from the UK. Iβd like a service that requires a signature on arrival with the recipient & upfront tariff information.
Any info much appreciated.
Cheers.
Thank you so much for taking the time to give me that tour, Maureen! I really appreciated it, and am blown away by how much you and the rest of The Children's Book Bank offer the community.
Note: Unfortunately I lack the time and funds to seek another solution right now. Having to prep taxstuff plus prepping for two back-to-back upcoming trips right now, in addition to trying to keep up steady writing pace.
Apologies to all for the inconvenience!
To those messaging me about the #KidLitMegaFeed and my other feeds being offline: unfortunately @blueskyfeedcreator.com has been having issues. I just renewed for another year before issues began, so I'm crossing my fingers that problem is temporary! π€π½
I have it! Sadly, my Quest 3 is buggy right now, trying to figure out what's wrong. Visuals keep jumping. :-(
