Thinking about Italy's connections to the global published record naturally brings to mind ... the movie Gladiator???🤔

Just had an author tell me "I trust you" in response to my comments on their piece, and I realized there's probably no higher praise an editor can receive 🥹

My mom is a retired ICU nurse, and I keep thinking of all the times she ran into the fray to help during chaos. From one-off car accidents we witnessed to full-blown pandemics. I call it activating nurse mode, where you see the switch flip to being driven exclusively by a duty of care and compassion

My toddler has started periodically asking for "Mommy music" in the car, and by this, he very specifically is asking to list to Queen. I feel both called out and proud at the same time.

Can someone please explain maternity cardigans to me? I don't understand what need they're filling.
Whenever I’m about to join something I’ve registered for (and want to attend) I always feel this big of regret-for the time I won’t have to get on with things. And then, nearly always, it is so worth it to take time to learn and discuss.
Turns out, chocolate chip cookies are chocolate chip cookies, and they are always good. I should just start doing that for holidays and pretend they're my cookies from scratch. I learned that lesson ages ago with boxed brownies.
I had my toddler help "bake" cookies for Thanksgiving by getting the take-and-break kind from the store so he could break them apart, put them on the tray, and watch them bake in the oven. And you know what, they were a hit. Why do I bake my own cookies when store bought cookie dough is delicious?
We considered "Milo" for our second, but were actually so relieved to find out we were having a girl because it was so much easier lol. Milo, Solomon, Julian, Felix, and Arlo are all names I had on our list, but we hadn't really settled on any.
Now he's just part of my all the time in the best possible way, but it took time to not feel completely overwhelmed by the bigness of it all.
This was actually the biggest adjustment I had to parenthood. Again, it seems so obvious, but I remember sitting in a rocker holding my newborn, staring off into the void, going, "Oh..... " And there was just know way to mentally prepare for that until it happened.

The wildest truth I had to tell my parents that I can think of is that I got a Saturday school (I was a "good" honors kid) because the school lunch line was too long (I wouldn't have time to eat), so we just left campus to go to Wendy's. It was a closed-campus school. I forgot there were cameras.
I told my parents that some friends and I were going to whatever the movie with the longest run time was in theatres at the time. I think it was a Star Wars movie? By the end of the night, we had ended up at a friend of a friend's house one state over swimming in their pool.
It may be #OAWeek but let's not forget the print monographs that make up research collections in scholarly libraries - joining the official launch of the UK PBC, a joint initiative to secure access to print monographs in UK libraries for current and future use. #UKPBC #collectivecollections ukpbc.uk
