Social media share these traits of VLTs and are just as addictive. I've easily burned a couple hours on shorts.

1. Solitude
2. Speed
3. Bottomlessness
4. You almost get what you want

(Also, it’s a street, not a road)

How come they keep spelling “open” wrong?

Does that street look closed to you? Only if you’re a car… and presumably that’s the real problem. #UrbanTruth

BREAKING: We’re taking the government to court over Palantir.

The government is refusing to hand over important briefings given to Wes Streeting about the £330m NHS data contract with Peter Thiel’s surveillance firm

So we’re taking legal action.

Wow, I didn't know it was paved. That's really cool. Is not as upgraded here. The paradise section was only upgraded to rockdust a few years ago. Before that it was an ATV abused disaster!

There are some fantastic places, like the trailway, and lots of side streets, but main routes, yeah, it sucks for the everyday cyclist.

It's a good idea. It sucks that cars make us fearful of using our own roads.

Maybe not. How many people die from flus every year? At least there is an offered vaccine every year.

Thankfully, the child had minor injuries. If we treated injuries and loss of property from car crashes, pedestrian and cyclist hits, if it were a disease, it would be a national crisis.

That is the worst, as it's been posted on trails that's been built with funds for multi user paths.

Tidal's digital copy of Judas Priest's Screaming for Vengeance is digitised from an analog source with dropouts. I thought it was the cassette I was using to record it to! I've found earlier metal albums to be of questionable digital quality across platforms -- #Spotify, #GoogleMusic and #Tidal.

This isn't to say there isn't some shining bright spots, like the MUP south of MUN Campus on Elizabeth, or the beautiful Kelly's Brook Path. But we are a far cry from a walkable or bikeable city. It isn't because St. John's is old. Look at Montreal. Cars pushed out the pedestrians and cyclists.

I have not seen this hit run reported anywhere besides NFLD Bulletin on Facebook.

I should add it's next to probably the city's worst shopping area for pedestrians, Kelsey Drive. That whole area around Kenmount Road is one big pile of car dominated fail. #yyt #cardominated #safecity #fail

Parts of the city are not legally safe to cycle to, including Kenmount Terrace. It is completely cut off to bicyclists that aren't mountain or XC. It's not hard to see why, surrounded by undeveloped land, industrial park, the worst four lane stroad in the city and a high speed arterial.

In West St. John's today near Brier Ave, a child cyclist was a victim of a hit and run, not far from two fast and busy roads cutting though many high density residential areas. Outside of a few isolated shared use paths, I do not consider this city safe for bicyclists. #yyt #nltraffic #cyclingsafety

For the hecklers in the back: fast *average* speed. I'm not even talking 300. Just 150, maybe 200. Right now, average speeds are what, 60 km/h?

Former Ontarian and train travel fan. I think I recognize that house. You're getting a nice tour bus view of it.

The election of Zohran Mamdani, reflection of the Liberals under PM Carney, and the election results in Hungary shows that the world wants change, rather than the majority of individuals swinging harder right.

So what's Vancouver and Toronto doing about similar tax evasion dick swinging?

When I was young, I couldn't wait to be able to drive everywhere. Now I'm the old, I can't wait to not have to drive everywhere. There are parts of this city you cannot safely get to at all without a motor vehicle. And parts you cannot safely bike to. #yyt #masstransit #safecities

do you ever wake up at 3am and think "shit that's a good idea, I better write that down so I can share it later on"

Yeah the fact I could log into blacksky's app with eurosky data while bluesky was down means that old criticism of ATPro is definitely for the bin.
