The #OldFortLoops is a portion of track that ascends the Blue Ridge via approximately 13 miles of track for a straight-line distance of three miles. This area of track suffered severe damage from #Helene with numerous washouts.

Contractor #RJCorman is working on most of the construction work between #OldFort and #Ridgecrest. Freight #rail traffic to #Asheville is only accessible via the #Tennessee side to the west via the #T-Line. All rail traffic between #Asheville and #OldFort has been cut off since #Helene in 2024. #wnc
