New paper out in Evolutionary Behavioral Sciences!
We find evidence that disgust sensitivity leads to religiosity through monogamous sexual attitudes. Calibrated mating goals might functionally shape belief.

A small story for a Monday night:
A group of students in my History of Psych class devised a game of musical chairs to illustrate the concept of survival of the fittest.
The prize was a box of Kinder eggs…representing the successful reproduction of those fittest.
Pleased and proud to share that recent honours student Ben has just accepted an offer to do a PhD in evo psych at Michigan.
Appropriately, he is in Denver this weekend presenting his research at SPSP.
Were I to have made the credits, it would have been 3.
I’m not sure it’s my favourite, but Love Hard was a scream.
I *always* want to see Santa, but in this scene my job was shopping.
Of course! If you zoom in really far towards the background scenery in this photo, you’ll see me.
I don’t need to go on social media to have my worldview challenged I am in theoretical physics I have a new existential crisis daily
*hands a cookie*
Trivia:
-I’ve tapped trees and turned the sap into maple syrup
-I make a couple of brief appearances in a Patrick Swayze movie (not that one)
-I’m a PADI certified diver but have never gone diving in the ocean
-On the day I moved to BC, I was rescued from an elevator by the fire department
A small introduction: I am an associate professor, a health psychologist, an eclectic, and a university teacher. Manuscripts currently under review used experimental, correlational, and qualitative designs, respectively, because it’s more fun that way.
Also a kayaker, ballroom dancer, & night owl.
