The arrests of Don Lemon, Georgia Fort, and Jamael Lundy are unacceptable and a clear violation of the Constitution.

This is a dangerous abuse of power that threatens the rights of every single American.

They must be released immediately.

This guy is in Minneapolis standing before an American citizen in an SUV.

The only reason he's brandishing an assault rifle is because he wants the people he's purportedly there protecting to feel terrorized by his presence.

This is not protection. This is occupation.

This disability education law turned 50 today. Disability advocates want more. "Our civil rights are not up for negotiations," Rep. Lateefah Simon said.

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. The federal government has never lived up to its commitment to shoulder 40 percent of the cost. Now, advocates want the feds to pony up, @juliametraux.bsky.social writes.

The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

Your now-regular reminder that Republican members of Congress are letting this happen.

The parallels are stark: entire communities were forcibly removed from the West Coast in 1942 and today our immigrant brothers and sisters face the terror of ICE and CBP raids across the country. It was a miscarriage of justice then, and it is a miscarriage of justice now.

We are outraged and deeply distressed that armed federal agents came onto our campus—making arrests on the very ground where, in 1942, Japanese American families were forced to board buses bound for concentration camps. It was a deliberate act of provocation and intimidation.

The #1 domestic terror threat in America is right-wing terrorism and white supremacist violence. They echo the conspiracies that have been mainstreamed by Trump, MAGA and right-wing media.

No accountability. No scrutiny.

They just keep doing it because it fuels their agenda and brings in $$$.

Too often, disability discourse gets stuck in binaries: Medical vs. Social. Autonomy vs. Dependence. Strengths vs. Deficits.

Real inclusion means opportunities and solutions—together.

Pathetic: ABC’s GMA, World News Tonight, This Week, CBS’ Mornings, Evening News, Face the Nation, NBC’s Today, Nightly News, Meet the Press, MSNBC, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, and The Wall Street Journal all failed to cover Trump's new office for ethnic cleansing.

Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.

Federal agents make warrantless arrests. Masked agents take people into custody without identifying themselves. Plainclothes agents in at least a dozen cities have arrested migrants who showed up to their court hearings. And across the U.S., people suspected of being in the country illegally are disappearing into the federal detention system without notice to families or lawyers, according to attorneys, witnesses and officials.

In Coral Springs, Fla., at least eight agents in tactical gear, shields and rifles surrounded a home with guns raised to arrest a father with no criminal history. In Irvine, Calif., ICE agents drove a phalanx of military vehicles in the Orange County suburb to arrest a person, though not for illegal immigration. They were seeking a resident’s son who had allegedly posted fliers alerting neighbors to the presence of ICE agents.

ICE is a much greater threat to this country than illegal immigrants. The current administration ia by far the greatest threat this country faces. The problem is not st our borders. It is in the White House.

In a statement in response to a Chalkbeat inquiry and later posted to social media, schools Chancellor Melissa Aviles-Ramos said, “Our hearts go out to the student who was detained by ICE, and we are deeply saddened for their family. While this incident did not occur on school grounds, we want to reassure our families: we will continue to speak out and advocate for the safety, dignity, and rights of all of our students.”

In the five days since he was detained on May 21, Dylan, who suffers from severe stomach issues, has been shuttled between four different states — New Jersey, Texas, Louisiana, and Pennsylvania, according to his lawyers and mom.

The rapid moves have prevented his lawyers from making contact with him, since it usually takes several days after a transfer to set up a consultation, according to an attorney from the New York Legal Assistance Group, or NYLAG, which is representing Dylan. Raiza, who has spoken to Dylan by phone, said he has not received medical care and has spent most of the time with his hands and feet cuffed.

A Bronx high school student was abducted by ICE at his immigration court date and has since been disappeared across four states in five days in order to evade contact with his lawyer.

The US is now undeniably a rogue state.
