So I lost all of the mod progress I made in Creation Kit. I don't know why it wouldn't load my parts into the object template despite displaying properly. I spent all day today setting everything up and trying to power through it, all for what? I feel do defeated. I just kinda wanna die.
Words cannot describe how much I hate Creation Kit right now. Besides being a general pain in the ass, didn't load my weapon parts on the object template because sure fine ok another problem, then killed itself when i tried to save. Like nobodys going to care about this mod anyways whats the point
I was hesitant about using NifSkope for so long because parts would be imported in wrong positions and every tutorial was like "yeah just reposition it by hand." It's because some of the nodes aren't zeroed. Like now I can actually accurately position my parts. Why didn't anyone tell me this sooner?
That's good, I really ought to update then
3DS Max 2013 is part of the official work flow for Fallout 4 because of a plugin for .nif files. Surely it's not still like that, like please tell me they weren't using 2013 with Starfield. You can't even officially get 2013 anymore.
These games are like the antithesis to me; slow, not action packed, requiring a lot of reading. And yet they are heavily influential to the kind of writing and worldbuilding I really love. Also the RPG mechanics and the way everything is itemized is really cool to me.
I do not recommend getting in debates on Twitter. Ain't doing that again.
Yeah that's kinda what I was going for with the current optic, Nydar plus okp-7 with some extra bits.
I've seen a couple mods with working grenade launchers and it might as well be magic to me, lol
A bipod handguard could be cool and got one optic so far.
I'm pretty happy with it, textured it after real bakelite instead of AK bakelite which is a different plastic (AG4). I'm going to need more attachment to fill out a Fallout 4 mod so I'm open to suggestions.
Making good progress on the Fallout 4 mod. Currently paused because I've decided to hack my 3DS.
My dissatisfaction with Fallout 4's gun designs is one of the reasons I started 3D modeling lol.
Oh yeah I combined a lot of cues from a lot of guns. To name a few; BAR rear sight, AK stock and mag, but STG44 inspired ammo (7.62 x 33mm in this case) and HK fire selector.
I'm hoping to get around to making her into a Fallout mod, just gotta get motivated to endure Creation Kit.
Thank you. I don't think it's *that* good, but I try my best.
I make every gun with the intention of being in Fallout and my own settings. Mostly because I like them too much and I want to have my cake and eat it too.

Attachments and variants. Lore and attachments will be expanded later when I figure out what I want to do :P

World building time. I needed to make some decals for the gun and got carried away. The gun still isn't finished.

I ended up liking it enough that I went back and did some touch ups and might do another texture set for it at some point.
Thanks! I appreciate the comment. ^__^
Changing my texturing process and putting everything in one painter file with each part a different texture set.
Still need to make some more optics and I'm missing a few attachment options that I just have no ideas for, notably for the barrel and stock.

One more render. I could definitely add more detail but it's 2 and I'm tired.
Trying out different methods of optimization and I almost have it looking seamless.
Reduced poly version on the left under the handmade rifle from Fallout 4. High poly bake on the right.

F14 Tomcat model I made today. This kit is the worst thing I've assembled yet but I still put in the effort to bring out all the details.
WIP
Currently working on a commission for a set of 3D printable parts for leather embossing. First part is pretty much done.
