I like to think that Jade found some space witch HRT and just had that all figured out during the time skip lol 6/6
This sort of situation definitely wasn’t thought through entirely by Hussie and I’m not going to blame them for the lack of clarity on the subject, but it is interesting to me how a discussion about Jade being trans or intersex can happen from just one decision in the story. 5/6
That leads me into my thoughts on why I personally see Jade as trans fem specifically. I think by being forced into that biological situation, shes going to develop in the wrong direction for her gender. Whether it be plot magic or some other thing, Jade had no issue with potential testosterone. 4/6
This is further expanded in beyond canon where there is no issues when it came to actually conceiving a child. So I get the vibe that her body gained male biology from the fusion while also retaining her current development. 3/6
I sorta disagree with the blanket statement that shes just intersex cuz that completely dodges the text and how it describes the situation. I personally read the conversation with Jake in the epilogues as “we cant have a kid because I dont have that biology anymore.” 2/6
I was thinking about how Jade fusing with Bec works from a more detailed perspective recently. There’s the obvious stuff covered in the epilogues and beyond canon, but I feel like there’s something a bit more than “shes just intersex end of story.” 1/6 #Homestuck
