I was at a textile convention where most of the small factory owners got hit hard by final assembly moving to Vietnam, but the whole logistics chain still needs to run through China so ultimately it feels like US foreign policy spent a ton of effort to screw over a dozen people.

Most of the conversations I've had with folks in China was them just being confused because cheap labor and state-subsidized logistics are what the West is meant to be exploiting (and why globalization exists) but the US is constantly mad about it for some reason.
