Al Gore:
“This is the most corrupt administration not only in American history, but more corrupt than I could ever have imagined a president would be able to get away with to the extent that he has. It’s shocking to me.”
At the very least the last time something like this happened, tech companies were falling over themselves to fund bootcamps and schools for learning to code.
But really nothing this time, not even aggressive lobbying the EA's favorite, UBI.

for those who missed it, here's the reason behind Melania's batshit crazy "press conference."
Surprise: Melania is a liar.

Good morning!
Since Trump was re-elected, Forbes estimates—
💰His net worth is up $2.1 billion, to $6.4 billion
💰Eric’s is up 10x, to $400 million
💰Don Jr.’s is up 6x, to $300 million
💰20-year-old Barron is worth $150 million
And Jared became a billionaire last year.
Have a great day!
When we were in Hungary last week, this kind of corruption is exactly the kind of thing that people we spoke to were complaining about. And look what happened there.
Roberts is just like Scalia and Alito - Big Daddy knows best, and their job is to dictate what American policy should be, especially when Congress gets it wrong.
Judicial review? Hah! That's for lowly, anonymous clerks. They're Very Important People saving America.
Oh well, we’re safe from robots taking our jobs for now.
The @nytimes.com reporting reveals more about the dysfunction and poor leadership at the Supreme Court. These revelations underscore the brilliant observations of @mjsdc.bsky.social , @audrelawdamercy.blacksky.app , and @nanagyamfi.bsky.social at our 14th Amendment Ctr symposium last week.
"the party should..."
We are ALL the party.
We all should vote in the primaries.
We all should vote in the generals.
We all should vote in odd year elections.
We all should participate in local party organizing.
If we want better government then we have to be better citizens.
Here’s the thing—especially on April 15: cutting the IRS isn't some abstract budget trim. It's a tax cut delivered through weaker enforcement. And it mostly goes to people with the most scope to hide income.
And about 4K for debt.
Our tax policy is a mess.
"Europe is, I would argue, particularly now, but I would argue even without Trump...a better place than the United States of America."
"You don't even have dryers... you're still using a hanging line."
@alastaircampbell2.bsky.social and @timmiller.bsky.social spar over Europe vs. the U.S.
I've had extremely gifted students struggle to get clerkships while their peers secure them easily just because they're in FedSoc.
It's antimeritocratic to have a system that rewards prestigious positions based solely on ideological conformity.
France passed a law requiring solar panels on every parking lot with more than 80 spaces.
Equals 10 nuclear reactors
Reduces heat island, shades cars
The US -- 800 million parking spaces. Most of them are uncovered asphalt sitting in direct sunlight.
Why aren't we doing this?
BREAKING: A jury has found Live Nation and Ticketmaster to be an illegal monopoly that overcharges fans.
After the federal government settled the case, 34 states kept pursuing the giant ticket and concert company.
Now, the states have won.

Days after the president blasted the Pope as “weak on Crime,” his own DOJ moved to dismiss criminal cases against individuals convicted of conspiring to use force to prevent the peaceful transfer of power.

Reagan’s OMB Director:
This is not just a great article about the decline of the compact, economic car market. It’s an article about how wealth and political power have reinforced each other so much that the American dream—physical and economic freedom—has become inaccessible for millions.

Barrera said her husband said the smell of human feces in the toilet caused a fellow detainee to vomit and, in turn, created a chain of people vomiting. She said her husband is asthmatic and has not received medication to treat his condition. The lack of medicine and the stress of the overcrowded holding cell has left him short of breath and teetering on the edge of an asthma attack, Barrera said. ICE did not immediately respond to questions on April 10 about the conditions of the Mesa or Phoenix facilities. After the publication of this article, Barrera told The Arizona Republic her husband was transferred to the ICE facility at San Luis Regional Detention Center at about midnight. The San Luis Regional Detention Center is in Southwestern Arizona and has the capacity to hold 700 people.
This is horrific. A U.S. citizen describes the facility in Arizona that her husband was brought to while he waited to be put on a deportation flight. Dozens of people were crammed into tiny cells, there was a "chain of people vomiting" from filthy toilets, no medical care, and only one meal per day.
Pennsylvania poll workers help to make voting run smoothly on Election Day. Here’s how you can serve as one.

A county in southeastern Pennsylvania has banned its poll workers from using prediction markets to bet on elections.
The board of elections in Delaware County recently approved a resolution that amended the oath poll workers take ahead of the election to include the ban.

See @lancasteronline.bsky.social reporting about a situation in Lancaster PA.
Maybe instead of pushing social media and smartphone bans, politicians and educators should confront the growing and deeply troubling issue of nudify apps being used on schoolchildren

As part of my efforts to combat the COVID Amnesia Project, let's accurately remember what 3 influential laptop class doctors from Stanford said 6 years ago as COVID overflowed hospitals and morgues.
They won't remind you.
I will.
My latest.
