Monitoring gene expression in the brain with a simple blood test?
In collaboration with @jerzyszablowski.bsky.social & his lab we figured out how to do it nonhuman primates using noninvasive neuroengineering of synthetic serum markers.

NHP research is indispensable for neuroscience and many other fields.
The battles are local AND national. All NHP researchers in the USA are at risk now. Who will be next?
Academic freedom is being dismantled. What will you do?
Email ohsuboard@ohsu.edu TODAY and tell them you support and value NHP research.

First they came for DEI and I said nothing for I hoped my success rates would improve.
Then they came for gender identity research and I said nothing for I hoped my success rates would improve.
Then they came for the NPRCs, and I said nothing for I hoped my success rates would improve.
In case you had any doubts what this “oh we just want to encourage non-animal research” excuse for putting an AR nutter in high office at NIH was about….

NIH and some outside interest groups are trying to force the closing of the Oregon National Primate Research Center, and it looks like they might win. This would be a huge blow for translational research. www.politico.com/news/2026/02...

Cool! Looking over the documentation… what would be a suggestion for how to use this with Vt PET data (where arterial input and metabolite correction are needed due to no valid reference region)? For example TSPO PET.
Similar concerns about NIH leadership. Basic research is under threat, this goes hand in hand with public health. Your constituents need your voice to support science in the USA!
