My heart is 44 years old.

Humans first walked on 'N America' ~30,000 years ago.
Modern Homo sapiens are ~160,000 years old.
The Heart Nebula is ~14 MYA.
So are the algae we study :O
Earth is ~4.5 billion years old.

Sometimes perspective is part of resistance.

This quarter I have been auditing a colleague's course (Earth Process and Evolutionary History).

One of my biggest gains from the course (and some work we are doing) is an expanded view of time: human animals are so *very young* compared to other life on Earth, compared to the Earth itself.

This feels like a good first re-post.
The Heart & Soul Nebulae are located within Cassiopeia, one of the easiest constellations to identify in the night sky where I live.
Next time I look up and see her, I will remember that H&S are always there.....like they are always there in each of us.
