On Thursday, MinKwon was invited to an emergency press conference convened by the Mayor of Palisades Park following repeated ICE activity. The mayor announced that he would form a task force to protect Korean American businesses & residents.
Yesterday MinKwon Center joined New Jersey immigrant organizations at the “FREEZE ICE OUT” Day of Action at the State House in Trenton.

On January 12, the New Jersey state legislature passed three important bills aimed at protecting immigrants. As we see increased ICE presence across NJ—and the country—this is a major first step in ensuring the safety of our neighbors. We hope to see other states institute similar laws this year.

🗣️ Language access was the most significant barrier to voting for Asian American voters
🌏 Asian Americans continue to experience an elevated level of discrimination, harassment, and violence due to their race, ethnicity, or religion
Exit polling provides critical insight for future elections to understand how we can better reach &engage w/ Asian American communities. Through exit polling, we can learn more about Asian American voters, their electoral preferences, issues influencing their vote, & barriers they face while voting.
