I haven’t even started yet! I’m easing myself in 😁 I’m loving all the discoveries
Sibéil Ní Feaghail and Sighle Nic Raghnann -Mount street lower, Dublin 2, living together, as I expected - took me some time to find them. Who are they? Good star to first correct answer … if you know, you know! #1926census
Thank you! This is absolutely fascinating, I would never have found them
Interesting chats in our Genealogical group y/day esp in relation to the Irish language and how it was recorded. Was there an element of concealment perhaps?People who were fluent Irish speakers in 1911 were recorded as English speaking in 1926. I agree, human curiosity drives these conversations
Yes! Amazing women and so much to learn from their records 💪 thank you for a great talk
Great talk by Deirdre @drdeefoley.bsky.social and the fascinating lens into female labour history.
Pretty cool venue too @dubcitycouncil.bsky.social #woodquay
In the North East of Ireland (Meath) Newgrange Farm was a regular destination for many a primary school child

Happy #InternationalWomensDay! ♀️🎉
As we celebrate the lives, experiences and influence of women today, why not explore the 'Women of the Borderlands' collection, which foregrounds the largely ignored gendered dimensions of life along the UK/Irish border: doi.org/10.7486/DRI....
To give people a little more time to get those abstracts in we are extending the deadline for submission until 6 February. We are really looking forward to receiving people's abstracts and putting the programme together.
Watercolour painting in a semi-cartoon style. A sheepdog lies contentedly in front of an old Stanley range with pots and a teapot on it, surrounded by rural kitchen paraphernalia like a bucket of turf, wellies, teatowels, jams and syrup, Lotto tickets etc. A clock hangs overhead and a mouse peaks out near it. #art #ireland #spéirgorm #spéirghorm

This hard-working canine companion warms themself by a familiar range in this watercolour and pencil illustration of a well-loved, cosy, rural Irish kitchen.

Digital mock-up of last year's Christmas card design, featuring a cosy scene that includes some well-loved details from an old - and new - Irish Christmas, with the greeting “Nollaig Shona” on the front (which means Merry Christmas in Irish). #SpéirGorm #SpéirGhorm #Ireland #Art #TraditionalArt

Last day to order prints in time for Father's Day in Ireland on www.ciaraioch.com/artprints Get your dad something he'll look at with mild confusion, say "oh, that's nice" and place in the back of a press somewhere, never to be seen again.
Has a certain ring to it ☺️
They also have great alma mater, including my lovely father in law 😉
Name the new National Children’s hospital after the great Dr Kathleen Lynn - a bill to be introduced to the Dáil. I would sincerely hope this would have cross party, even unanimous, support. She more than deserves this honour #speirgorm www.con-telegraph.ie/2025/04/21/b... to

It's very easy to not use AI image generators. Less than zero effort required. There's no reason to help normalise it at all.
I really enjoyed reading your article today, a proud grandfather for sure

A survey is under way to assess the dilapidation of Dublin's historic North Georgian Core, the Department of Heritage has said. It comes as experts say the level of dereliction and neglect is at its highest in decades.
